Boutique Indian restaurant chain, Colonel Saab, is set to offer a unique pre-theatre experience inspired by the West End musical Mrs Doubtfire.

The multi-sensory dining adventure, featuring cocktails and dishes inspired by famous scenes from the show, will be available at the restaurant’s flagship Holborn location from August 1.

Diners can choose between two options: a £60 five-course menu with cocktail pairings or a shorter £35 two-course set lunch menu.

Both experiences are designed to be enjoyed before a short four-minute walk to the Shaftesbury Theatre, where the musical is currently playing.

The full experience begins with a colour-changing gin cocktail named “Chachi 420”, after the popular Bollywood remake of Mrs Doubtfire.Mrs Doubtfire x Colonel SaabThe menu creatively plays on the theme of transformation, mirroring the musical’s plot.

Highlights include the “My First Day as a Woman” Anglo Indian chicken chop, “Poppet’s Paneer Pakeezah”, and a butter chicken main inspired by the famous Spatchcock Chicken scene from the original film.

In a nod to iconic moments from the story, diners can expect a “Run-By Fruiting” course and a grand finale involving liquid nitrogen, neatly referencing the kitchen fire scene.Mrs Doubtfire x Colonel SaabRoop Partap Choudhary, owner of Colonel Saab, says: “We’re thrilled to partner with Mrs Doubtfire on this exciting, theatrical menu experience.

The film and the Chachi 420 Bollywood remake are huge movies in India and the UK and we enjoyed transforming the story from stage to plate with our multi-sensory Mrs Doubtfire dining experience.”Mrs Doubtfire x Colonel SaabThe West End musical, which recently celebrated its first anniversary, has received critical acclaim for its adaptation of the Robin Williams classic.

It tells the story of Daniel, an out-of-work actor who creates the alter ego of Scottish nanny Euphegenia Doubtfire to stay close to his children after a difficult divorce.

Colonel Saab, which also has a location in Trafalgar Square, has garnered numerous accolades, including being named the UK’s Best Asian Restaurant at the Asian Curry Awards.

The restaurants are a tribute to Choudhary’s family and their travels across India, featuring a rich collection of Indian art and artefacts.
