The unexpected announcement of Oasis's reunion tour for the summer of 2025 has set off a surge in travel searches to the UK and Ireland, according to data from leading travel subscription platform eDreams Odigeo.
On the day of the announcement (August 27, 2024), searches for flights to concert destinations skyrocketed by an average of 2,838% compared to the same period last year.
Cardiff, in particular, saw an extraordinary increase, with searches multiplying 121-fold.
Other cities hosting the iconic Britpop band's performances also experienced significant spikes in interest.
Manchester, the band's hometown, saw searches increase by 700%, while Dublin and Edinburgh witnessed rises of 635% and 557% respectively.
Even London, typically a popular destination, experienced a 212% surge in flight searches.
Proving the pulling power of music tourism, the reunion has struck a chord with international fans, particularly those from Italy, who topped the list of nationalities searching for flights to the concert venues.
They were closely followed by Spanish, German, British and French fans – but whether any of them managed to secure a ticket is another matter.
Spanish fans showed particular enthusiasm for the Manchester gig, with a 1,571% increase in searches compared to 2024.
They also demonstrated strong interest in the London (359% increase) and Edinburgh (1,530% increase) concert dates.
The data analysis was based on searches conducted on eDreams Odigeo's platforms for travel to Dublin, Edinburgh, London, Manchester, and Cardiff in July and August 2025, compared to the same dates in the previous year.
As is often the case with big ticket performances, the Oasis reunion tour could provide a welcome boost to local economies in the concert host cities.
