The multi-pocket Baubax travel jacket has generated almost US$9 million of investment, 400 times more than the original US$20,000 target.
With eight hours to go before the Kickstarter campaign ends (at the time of publishing), the jacket had received US$8,759,775 worth of crowdfunded pledges from 43,158 people.
Described as the “word’s best travel jacket”, it comes in four styles for men and women (sweatshirt, windbreaker, bomber and blazer).
Features include built-in inflatable neck pillow, an eyemask, gloves, earphone holder, drink pocket, and more than half a dozen other compartments for gadgets, sunglasses, pens, passports and chargers. It even has a zip that turns into a pen/stylus.
For travellers flying low-cost carriers with strict baggage allowances, this will no doubt be a great help, provided you don’t have to empty all your pockets at security.
