A new exclusive-use villa has been unveiled within the renowned La Residence estate in South Africa's famous wine country, just an hour's drive from Cape Town.
Franschhoek House provides accommodation for up to 12 guests in six individually designed suites, set amongst ancient vineyards and majestic mountain views.
The property sits under the canopy of a 200-year-old oak tree, creating a serene and private escape in one of the world's most picturesque settings.
The property, part of The Royal Portfolio collection, is infused with French heritage influences and meticulously designed to create spaces that feel "familiar yet refreshing, indulgent yet intimate."
Interiors feature luxurious fabrics, antique furniture and bold colour palettes, complemented by large windows and high-pitched ceilings that allow light to flow freely throughout the villa. Chandeliers add touches of grandeur to each space.
Art features prominently throughout the property, with works by renowned African artists including Again Chokuwamba, Amanda Shingirai Mushate and Grace Nyahangar. A 17th-century tapestry by David Teniers II from Aubusson, France is also highlighted as a significant piece within the collection.
At the heart of the villa is 'The Long Room', a central gathering space featuring a bar, comfortable lounge, and full-size billiard table designed for socialising. The property also boasts an interactive kitchen where a private chef creates farm-to-table dishes using fresh ingredients sourced from the estate and surrounding areas.
Outside spaces include multiple patios and a private heated pool set within beautifully landscaped gardens, offering various settings for relaxation.
The villa is situated on the 30-acre La Residence estate, providing a secluded retreat while remaining just minutes from the centre of Franschhoek town, known for its world-class wineries, award-winning restaurants and rich cultural heritage.
Rates start at £4670 per night and include accommodation, breakfast, snacks, laundry service, wifi, all coffees and speciality teas, La Residence house wines, local beverages, and shuttle services to Franschhoek.
