Season six of Amazing Hotels: Life Behind The Lobby will take viewers on another dreamy tour of extraordinary stays, including IHG properties in Shanghai and Ibiza. Olivia Palamountain reports
The BBC series Amazing Hotels: Life Beyond the Lobby is set to feature two of IHG Hotels & Resorts‘ luxury flagships in its upcoming season.
Premiering on September 12 on BBC2 and BBC iPlayer, the show will offer viewers an exclusive behind-the-scenes look at the InterContinental Shanghai Wonderland and Six Senses Ibiza.
Presenters Chef Monica Galetti and Television Lawyer Rob Rinder will immerse themselves in the day-to-day operations of these unique properties, working alongside hotel staff to uncover the intricacies of delivering world-class hospitality.
The InterContinental Shanghai Wonderland is an architectural marvel built into a former quarry, will be showcased in the season premiere.
This “upside-down skyscraper,” designed by Martin Jochman, presents a unique blend of natural surroundings and luxury accommodations.
The episode will explore the engineering challenges and innovations behind this unusual property.
Later in the season, viewers will be transported to the Six Senses Ibiza, a wellness-focused resort on the island’s northern tip.
The episode will highlight the property’s year-round programming, from wellness practices and silent hikes to farm-to-table cooking and music production.

Amazing Hotels: Life Beyond the Lobby will air on BBC2 at 8pm BST, with episodes also available for streaming on BBC iPlayer from 12 September.
