Created by the luxury hotel group behind Claridge’s, Surrenne is a futuristic wellness club that intends to make you look and feel younger. Jenny Southan reports

Located in the upmarket district of London’s Knightsbridge, Surrenne is a new private members’ wellness club that “blends the wonders of the earth, advancements in modern science and cutting-edge treatments”.

Tapping into the trend for longevity and human optimisation, Surrenne claims to have devised a “groundbreaking” menu of wellness programming including Oxygeneo facials, comprehensive health and fitness assessments, blood sugar monitoring and Hypervolt massages.

There is also a workout studio with wall-to-wall screens showing on-demand classes with virtual trainers: optoins include Yin Tibetan Bowl Meditation in a Japanese garden, Heart Fire Flow yoga in the Agafay desert in Morocco, and Broga Body Rehab on a cliff edge in Devon.

Surrenne has been devised by Maybourne, which has a prestigious global hotel portfolio that includes Claridge’s, the Connaught and the Berkeley in London; the Maybourne Beverly Hills, the Maybourne Riviera; and soon the Emory (also in London), which is set to open April 2024.

Set over four floors, Surrenne has 2,000 sqm of space devoted to a gym, 22-metre swimming pool (complete with sound system for in-water meditation), stream rooms and saunas, spaces for indoor and outdoor fitness classes, relaxation and spa treatments.SurrenneSurrenne also has its own Longevity Clinic in partnership with tech pioneers Virtusan. Its scientific advisory board includes Dr Andrew Huberman (the Huberman lab), Dr David Sinclair (author of Lifespan) and Dr Shauna Shapiro, who will offer members and hotel guests the latest in evidence-based methodologies, and diagnostics backed by neuroscience.

Together they have meticulously crafted longevity and fitness protocols that cater to the individual, ensuring optimal performance, cognition and targeted physical training.

Conceptualised by industry leader Inge Theron, creative director of spa and wellness design for Maybourne, Surrenne offers a  cast of modern wellness pioneers including:

  • The UK’s first and long-awaited studio from global fitness pioneer Tracy Anderson offering her revolutionary Tracy Anderson Method workouts designed to work every muscle in the body
  • The latest medical grade skincare using scientifically backed ingredients with a series of signature facials by leading surgeon and skincare expert Dr Lara Devgan
  • A micronutrient rich menu designed by nutritionist Rosemary Ferguson in Surrenne Café

Coupled with this, there is also a holistic menu of multi-sensory experiences, signature dry and wet body treatments from around the world and highly efficacious facials performed by an accomplished team of therapists to rejuvenate and restore.

Guests of the nearby Berkeley and Emory hotels will receive free access to Surrenne as part of their stay. In 2022, Claridge’s unveiled its own cutting-edge underground spa. The Connaught has a spa operated by Aman.
