Tulåh brings clinical wellness to Kerala

Tulåh brings clinical wellness to Kerala

June 1, 2026

New wellness retreat tulåh combines Ayurveda, regenerative medicine and advanced diagnostics in a 30-acre sanctuary designed for personalised healing journeys.

A new wellness destination in Kerala is seeking to redefine the future of health tourism by combining traditional healing practices with modern medical science. Opened in February 2026, tulåh Clinical Wellness positions itself as an integrative healing sanctuary that blends Ayurveda, Yoga and Eastern philosophies with advanced diagnostics, regenerative medicine and personalised healthcare.

Located in the hills of northern Kerala, the retreat spans 30 acres of medicinal gardens and rewilded forest. The property features 65 suites, 14 treatment areas and a design philosophy that places nature at the centre of the guest experience. Sustainable features include rainwater harvesting systems, radiant cooling technology in place of conventional air conditioning and extensive use of natural materials sourced to reflect the surrounding landscape.

Among the retreat's most distinctive features is The Sonorium, described as the world's largest sound healing dome. The space has been designed to deliver immersive sound experiences intended to support relaxation and wellbeing through harmonic frequencies. Elsewhere on the estate, native planting schemes provide ingredients for both the on-site apothecary and restaurant, where menus draw heavily on produce grown in kitchen gardens alongside responsibly sourced local fish and organic meats.

At the core of tulåh's offering is a personalised approach to health assessment and treatment. Every guest undergoes an extensive pre-arrival evaluation that contributes to The tulåh Life Index™, a proprietary framework designed to assess physical, emotional and mental wellbeing. The resulting data informs customised treatment programmes that range from four-day health assessments to longer recovery and rehabilitation plans lasting up to 21 days.

Programmes are divided into two broad pathways. The Wellness Journey focuses on prevention, optimisation and lifestyle improvements, while the Clinical Journey supports individuals managing chronic conditions or undergoing recovery. Both pathways combine evidence-based medicine with traditional healing systems.

Medical diagnostics play a significant role in the guest experience. Assessments can include genome and microbiome mapping, cardiovascular profiling, blood analysis and functional testing. Guests also have access to advanced medical facilities including radiology services, MRI and CT scanning, an operating theatre, intensive care capabilities and specialist medical suites. Clinical support is provided by practitioners spanning conventional medicine, Ayurveda, functional medicine, psychology, Traditional Chinese Medicine, nutrition and movement science.

For more complex cases, tulåh works closely with Meitra Hospital, its sister institution located around 20 minutes away. The partnership provides access to more than 200 specialists and extends the retreat's ability to support guests requiring specialist medical input.

The retreat also incorporates a range of emerging therapies that are becoming increasingly popular within the global wellness sector. These include hyperbaric oxygen therapy, cryotherapy and photobiomodulation treatments designed to support recovery and reduce inflammation. Tulåh has also developed what it describes as the world's first Ayurvedic Vichy bed, a patented treatment platform that modernises traditional oil-based therapies into a more immersive wellness experience.

Daily programmes combine these technologies with traditional practices such as Panchakarma, Iyengar Yoga and Vedanta-inspired mindfulness techniques. Treatments may include Ayurvedic bodywork, cupping, moxibustion, lymphatic drainage, IV nutrient therapies, PRP and exosome treatments, breathwork, sound healing and personalised nutrition plans informed by genetic and dosha analysis.

Tulåh is the vision of engineer and philanthropist Faizal Kottikollon, whose previous projects include Meitra Hospital and educational initiatives across India and Africa. The development represents a significant investment in Kerala's growing wellness tourism sector and reflects increasing demand for destinations that combine medical expertise with holistic wellbeing approaches.

Looking ahead, the company plans to expand beyond Kerala with the launch of Urban tulåh, a network of city-based wellness centres, alongside tulåh at Home, a personalised remote healthcare programme. Together, these initiatives aim to create a connected ecosystem of preventative and integrative healthcare that extends beyond the traditional retreat model.
