Wilde opens extended-stay aparthotel in Amsterdam Noord

October 23, 2026

Wilde has opened a 120-key aparthotel overlooking Amsterdam's IJ River, combining apartment-style accommodation with co-working facilities, a rooftop garden and an all-day bar.

Boutique aparthotel brand Wilde has opened a new property in Amsterdam Noord, marking the company's first development designed specifically for extended stays of seven nights or longer.

Located within the new Yvie residential development on the northern bank of the IJ River, Wilde Amsterdam occupies eight floors and offers 120 studios, one-bedroom and two-bedroom apartments.

The opening reflects growing demand for accommodation that combines the flexibility of apartment living with the services and facilities of a hotel, particularly among business travellers, remote workers and guests spending longer periods in a destination.Wilde hotel Amsterdam Noord

Each apartment features a fully equipped kitchen, separate living areas, dedicated bedrooms, Hypnos mattresses and blackout blinds. Pet-friendly accommodation is also available.

Communal facilities include a 24-hour reception, fitness centre, co-working areas, lounges, private bicycle parking and a self-service deli selling breakfast items, snacks, coffee and drinks.

The property's main social space is Oscar's, an all-day bar and lounge designed to accommodate everything from morning coffee and informal meetings to evening drinks.

The bar serves cocktails, wine, craft beers and small plates, while an adjoining outdoor terrace connects to a rooftop garden overlooking the surrounding neighbourhood.

A semi-private dining area seating up to 15 guests is also available for small gatherings and private events.

The communal interiors have been designed by London-based studio Stephanie Barba Mendoza, whose founder previously spent a decade working at Martin Brudnizki Design Studio.Wilde hotel Amsterdam Noord Wilde hotel Amsterdam Noord Wilde hotel Amsterdam Noord

The design takes inspiration from Amsterdam Noord's transformation from an industrial and shipbuilding district into a centre for art, culture and independent businesses.

A hand-painted mural by Dutch artist Lisette van Hoogenhuyze forms the centrepiece of the lobby, accompanied by matching painted lamps. The colour palette combines burgundy, terracotta, yellow, lavender and green, with materials including terrazzo, brass, leather and timber.

At Oscar's, a sculptural bar finished in high-gloss materials and glazed lava stone is surrounded by bespoke furniture, leather-backed seating and antique mirrors.

The semi-private dining space features a disco ball created in collaboration with French textile house Pierre Frey, while a bespoke oak DJ booth decorated with carved wooden flowers references the area's floristry heritage.Wilde hotel Amsterdam Noord Wilde hotel Amsterdam Noord

Guest apartments have been designed by Wilde's in-house interiors team, combining marble, timber, lacquer, brass and tactile fabrics with custom furniture.

The location places guests within easy reach of some of Amsterdam Noord's main cultural attractions. The former NDSM shipyards, approximately ten minutes away by bicycle, have become a centre for artists' studios, exhibitions, restaurants and events. The nearby STRAAT Museum occupies a former industrial warehouse dedicated to large-scale street art.

Other attractions include the EYE Filmmuseum, A'DAM Lookout and Tolhuistuin, a cultural venue hosting music, dining and events. Noorderpark and the area's waterfront cycling routes also provide access to green spaces away from the busier historic centre.

Despite its location across the river from central Amsterdam, the property is connected to the city centre by the free F3 ferry, which operates 24 hours a day from behind Amsterdam Centraal Station. The crossing takes approximately five minutes, while Schiphol Airport can be reached by train in around 35 minutes.

Wilde Amsterdam is the latest addition to the brand's expanding European portfolio, following openings in Lisbon, Vienna and Porto earlier in 2026.

The company is positioning its properties as an alternative to conventional hotels and serviced apartments, with an emphasis on longer stays, communal spaces and interiors that reflect their surrounding neighbourhoods.

By introducing a minimum seven-night stay, Wilde Amsterdam is also targeting travellers whose accommodation needs extend beyond a typical city break, including those relocating for work, undertaking extended business assignments or spending several weeks exploring the Dutch capital.
