Gleneagles unveils Tower Suite with private rooftop terrace

October 23, 2026

Scotland's Gleneagles hotel has transformed its original tower into a two-storey private residence featuring a ten-seat dining room.

Luxury outpost Gleneagles has unveiled its new Tower Suite, a one-bedroom residence occupying two floors of the hotel's original tower, with rates starting from £7,750 per night.

Located above the main entrance of the historic Perthshire hotel, the suite occupies a space that once housed Gleneagles' library. Its redevelopment introduces a private rooftop terrace, the only one of its kind at the property, with views across the Ochil Hills, the hotel's three golf courses and the surrounding Scottish countryside.

Designed by AIME Studios, the Tower Suite takes inspiration from Gleneagles' Art Deco heritage and the golden age of railway travel, combining original architectural features with bespoke furniture, antique pieces and contemporary Scottish artwork.

The suite has been designed to accommodate both overnight stays and private entertaining, with a series of interconnected rooms spread across two levels. Gleneageles Tower suite Gleneageles Tower suite

Guests enter through a hallway featuring monochrome marble, burgundy lacquered surfaces and gold Art Deco wallpaper. A staircase connects the private dining room, sitting room and library, with a concealed staircase providing access to the rooftop terrace.

The ten-seat dining room features timber-panelled walls, herringbone flooring and a built-in Ming Green marble bar. Vintage Art Deco chairs surround the dining table, while the space can also be used for private meetings and working sessions.

A separate sitting room includes a concealed cocktail bar stocked by Gleneagles' American Bar, with spirits and pre-mixed cocktails available for guests.

The bedroom features a custom-designed four-poster bed and a hand-painted mural by artist Nancy Daniell depicting the Perthshire landscape. Bespoke walnut, mahogany and burl joinery is complemented by a marble bathroom with an Arabescato marble arch, Nero Marquina detailing, mosaic tiles and a curtained bathtub.Gleneageles Tower suite Gleneageles Tower suite Gleneageles Tower suite

A separate powder room and a dedicated Night Pantry provide additional facilities, including a fridge, freezer, coffee machine and refreshments selected according to guests' preferences before arrival.

The interiors reference the hotel's origins in the 1920s, when the Caledonian Railway Company developed Gleneagles as a luxury destination for railway passengers.

Materials including brass, lacquer, marble and dark timber are used throughout, alongside vintage and antique furniture sourced from the Scottish Antique & Arts Centre, 1stDibs and Pamono.

Bespoke pieces by Julian Brown Fine Furniture sit alongside fabrics from Pierre Frey, Dedar and Rose Uniacke. Art consultant Sigrid Kirk has curated a collection of works by Scottish artists and newly commissioned pieces, while Daniell's landscape murals continue through the bedroom and sitting room.

Beyond the interiors, the Tower Suite introduces a highly personalised service model, with guests assigned a single point of contact from reservation through to departure. The dedicated host is available around the clock to arrange dining reservations, activities and other requests, including private experiences across the Gleneagles estate.

Guests can organise activities such as padel lessons, salmon fishing and golf, while private dining can be tailored in consultation with the hotel's culinary team. Rather than offering a fixed in-suite dining menu, guests can select dishes from Gleneagles' existing restaurants or arrange bespoke meals, ranging from informal suppers to private celebrations.
