MSC Cruises unveils AI-powered family fun at sea
MSC Cruises is introducing interactive game shows, AI-powered teen experiences and theme park attractions aboard its newest flagship, MSC World Asia.
MSC Cruises has revealed new details about the family entertainment offering aboard MSC World Asia, the cruise line’s latest flagship launching in the Mediterranean in 2026.
The ship will operate seven-night itineraries calling at Barcelona, Marseille, Messina, Civitavecchia for Rome, Naples and Valletta, combining major European city destinations with an expanded onboard entertainment programme aimed at multigenerational travellers. Central to the experience is the new Family Aventura District, a dedicated area bringing together children’s clubs, outdoor attractions and interactive family entertainment venues.
MSC Cruises says the ship will feature its widest range of family-focused programming to date, with new experiences designed for toddlers, children, teenagers and parents. Steve Leatham, vice president of entertainment at MSC Cruises, says: “As a family-owned company, MSC Cruises knows what it takes to keep the whole family happy on holiday, with tailored family entertainment activities and facilities for guests of all ages.

“On board MSC World Asia, family entertainment will reach new heights - bigger, bolder and more innovative than ever. Featuring our widest range of programmes yet, alongside immersive, interactive and personalised experiences for everyone from toddlers to teens, families can expect truly extraordinary moments at sea.”
One of the most significant additions is MSC Luna Park Arena, an interactive entertainment venue where digital technology transforms the floor into a gaming arena for live competitions and game shows. New concepts include Code Breakers, a challenge centred around solving secret codes, Labyrinth, a strategy-based navigation game, and Chart Toppers, a music quiz featuring songs from multiple generations. The ship will also introduce an expanded version of The Clubhouse, a multifunctional family activity space featuring bumper cars, roller skating, sports coaching and a dedicated LEGO family zone.
Returning entertainment concepts include Guinness World Records, MasterChef at Sea Juniors and the Doremix Family Disco, alongside new additions such as Out of Control, an obstacle-based timed challenge.

Outdoor family entertainment will be concentrated in The Harbour, an open-air recreation zone featuring waterslides, rope courses and the Cliffhanger swing attraction, described by MSC Cruises as Europe’s first over-water swing. The area also includes a new family playground called The Play Deck, designed to encourage shared experiences between parents and children. As evening entertainment becomes increasingly important on cruise ships, MSC Cruises says The Harbour will transform into a night-time outdoor theme park after dark with illuminated attractions and extended programming.
Teen travellers are another major focus for the brand. MSC World Asia will introduce AI-powered entertainment hosted by a digital avatar called Yuna, who will lead themed events including K-pop parties and roller disco sessions. Dedicated teen sessions for game shows and interactive quizzes will also take place throughout the ship.
The cruise line is also expanding its Doremiland children’s area on Deck 19, which spans more than 1,000 sqm and includes age-specific clubs, gaming zones, an arcade and an MSC Formula Racer simulator. New themed LEGO rooms inspired by Asian landmarks and Formula 1 will also be added, alongside a new LEGO parade featuring character mascots.
Matteo Mancini, family entertainment development director at MSC Cruises, says: “For us, the greatest reward is seeing the joy on families’ faces when they discover something completely new. On MSC World Asia, every experience has been designed to surprise, inspire and spark imagination.”
