The Dolomites' Hotel Rosa Alpina, located in the village of San Cassiano, is set to reopen as an ultra-luxury Aman resort following a grand refurbishment, with reservations now open ahead of a 24 July launch.
Rebranded as Aman Rosa Alpina, the hotel has been completely reimagined by architect Jean-Michel Gathy of Denniston, a longstanding Aman collaborator.
The transformation preserves the property's alpine heritage while introducing contemporary luxury elements and expanded amenities.
The redesign features a reimagined double-height arrival space anchored by a bespoke bar inspired by Rosa Alpina's original piano bar, created as "a new, lofty sanctuary flanked by the surrounding peaks."
All guestrooms and suites have been completely remodelled, with the addition of two new 150sqm Aman Suites and a reconfigured 280sqm Chalet Zeno offering accommodation for up to four guests. The hotel will debut several new dining concepts including an Italian grill, an all-day lounge for afternoon tea and cocktails, and a dedicated breakfast room with live cooking stations. Additional facilities include a separate evening lounge for premium cigars and aged spirits, plus a private wine library for expert-led tastings. A Japanese restaurant will be added for the winter season.
A newly built Aman Spa introduces the brand's wellness philosophy to the mountain setting, featuring three swimming pools, a jacuzzi and signature therapies drawing on the Dolomites' restorative powers. Expanded amenities include games rooms for different age groups, three private cinemas and a ski lounge with heated boot racks.
Speaking about the opening, Vlad Doronin, chairman and CEO of Aman Group, says: "The reimagining of Rosa Alpina as Aman Rosa Alpina marks a meaningful chapter for our brand. I first discovered this extraordinary property as a guest many years ago and developed a long-standing friendship with the Pizzinini family. What began as admiration quickly turned into a shared dream - to preserve and elevate the spirit of this unique place for future generations of Aman guests."
The Pizzinini family, headed by Hugo and Ursula, remains at the helm of the property. They say: "The transition of the hotel into Aman Rosa Alpina marks an important and considered step forward. Partnering with Aman allows us to honour the legacy of our family's ownership and three generations of hospitality, while joining a brand renowned for its uncompromising attention to detail and deep reverence for place."
The resort offers exclusive access to the family's two private mountain cabins for wood-fired lunches prepared by private chefs, alongside privileged access to over 1,200 km of slopes in winter and year-round outdoor activities including hiking, biking and climbing.
