Cookson launches Nordic air safari for coolcations
A 19-day Nordic air safari by private PC-12 plane links remote islands, glacial camps and historic retreats across Sweden, Finland and Norway.
Cookson Adventures has created a 19-day Nordic air safari for private groups seeking remote wilderness with the ease of private aviation.
The trip uses a privately chartered PC-12 turboprop plane to connect six exclusive-use stays across Sweden, Finland and Norway. Each property is booked in full for up to six guests, with three nights spent at each location. Prices start from £595,000 for a private group of six.
The PC-12 has been chosen because it can land on shorter and more remote airstrips than many private jets. This reduces transfer times and gives guests aerial views of the Nordic landscape, from coastlines and islands to fjords and glaciers.

The Nordic air safari begins in Sweden, where guests stay in a converted lighthouse residence on a private island five miles off the west coast. The journey then continues to a 19th-century farmhouse set within a working agricultural landscape. Experiences include meals prepared by private chefs using seasonal and foraged ingredients, guided wildlife safaris with the chance to swim near seals and nights spent outdoors under the stars.
In Finland, guests take over a 10-acre heritage retreat on a former customs island dating back to the 1630s. The island has views over the Turku archipelago and includes restored coastguard quarters, watchtowers and boathouses. Activities include a Finnish military-style bootcamp, an immersive scavenger hunt and ceramics with local artisans.
The Norway section links Arctic Norway, the Lofoten Islands and the fjords. Guests first stay in a glacial camp made up of geodesic tents, where long summer evenings bring the midnight sun. Experiences include cold fjord plunges, countryside hikes with huskies and Arctic floating in full-body flotation suits.

The journey then moves to a former 19th-century trading post that has been turned into a private island retreat, reached only by boat. Its wellness area includes a suspended sauna, beach lounge and hot tub deck with views of Lofoten’s mountain peaks. Visiting chefs can also host meals in the open-plan kitchen.
The final stop is a fifth-generation family-owned country retreat dating to the early 1800s. Here, guests can go stand-up paddleboarding through the fjords, fly fish for Atlantic salmon or attend private opera recitals.
The itinerary is available from April to September and includes private plane charter, exclusive-use accommodation, heli transfers, bespoke planning and selected experiences.
