Le Jardin de Verre by Locke is the 17th apart-hotel from Locke and its first Paris location.
The 145-room property occupies a prime position in the Latin Quarter near the Panthéon, Jardin des Plantes and Sorbonne University, however it's the site's unique heritage that is most alluring.
The building's transformation required careful integration of various architectural periods - from a 20th-century industrial factory to an 18th-century Parisian residence. A modern addition been designed to maximise natural light from the courtyard atrium whilst preserving historic elements including original metalwork.
A former location of grand public gardens, this narrative has inspired extensive interior landscaping throughout the property, designed by London and Los Angeles-based studio Fettle. Natural materials including stone, terracotta and timber contrast with restored original concrete columns from the former factory.
The property offers 11 room categories including two signature suites - the Begonia Suite split across two floors with calming green décor, and the larger Roseraie Suite featuring a dramatic glazed ceiling, oversized chandelier and freestanding bathtub overlooking the historic courtyard. All accommodations feature Locke's signature aparthotel format with fully fitted kitchens, living and working spaces that provide greater autonomy than traditional hotel rooms. Guest room design reflects the site's three architectural periods, incorporating Haussmannian elements like dark oak flooring and floor-to-ceiling windows alongside contemporary fixtures and bespoke textiles.
Dining concept Bibie encompasses multiple venues including an internal courtyard, destination restaurant in the atrium with bar and terrace, dedicated cocktail bar, coffee shop and wine counter.
"Locke believes that life shouldn't stop when you're away from home, giving guests the freedom to travel on their own terms by creating spaces that are designed to be lived in," the company explains, positioning the aparthotel concept to appeal to both business and leisure travellers seeking extended or short stays.
The entrance courtyard features striped yellow banquettes, rattan chairs, green patterned parasols and festoon lighting creating a sophisticated outdoor atmosphere, whilst the atrium restaurant uses vibrant pink, orange and red shades with statement chandeliers.Additional facilities include an on-site gym, yoga studio and boardroom for meetings and events. Artwork throughout has been curated by Locke's in-house team featuring works by local artists, whilst furniture and fittings deliberately vary in style to emulate a Parisian residence.
Opening rates start from €275 per night for a City Studio with balcony, positioning the property in Paris's competitive boutique accommodation market where aparthotels increasingly challenge traditional hotels by offering greater space and flexibility.
Since opening its first location in 2016, Locke has expanded across the UK and mainland Europe, targeting travellers who prefer the autonomy of apartment-style living combined with hotel services and social spaces.
