Following the success of our debut Retreat at the Juvet Landscape Hotel in May, we are heading back to the wilds of Norway this October for an autumn edition – joined this time by some very special guests.

Adam Sebba and Nicholas Priest – co-founders of cultural travel company The Luminaire and longtime collaborators of Globetrender – are set to attend the Retreat, where they will share their experience of building a brand with substance and soul.Globetrender retreat Norway 2025

The pair bring impressive pedigree to the table: Sebba has 20 years of leadership experience; prior to co-founding The Luminaire, he was the CEO of Cookson Adventures and ran the luxury fashion brand Antonio Berardi. Sebba was also named one of the 50 most influential people in British luxury in the Walpole Power List 2023.

Priest, meanwhile, has held senior leadership roles at four of the world’s leading hotel and travel brands; Andre Balazs Properties, One&Only Resorts, NetJets Europe and, most recently, global head of marketing at Aman for five years.

The Luminaire positions itself as a community of curious minds dedicated to reimagining travel for a new generation, crafting journeys with unique access and captivating stories. The company utilises local knowledge and a global network of experts to deliver what it describes as "real, rare and transformational experiences."

Travelling in the esteemed company of world’s foremost thinking, guests of The Luminaire discover the world’s most intriguing stories, revealed by those who tell them best.

The business model extends beyond luxury travel through The Luminaire Foundation, established to invest in the sustainable future of destinations visited by guests. The foundation is funded by 1% of company sales and operates across three pillars: natural conservation, cultural preservation and education.

The company has announced Foundation journeys for 2026, including expeditions to Everest Base Camp in October, Bhutan wilderness in September, and a Kilimanjaro challenge in December.
