Mexico's Mar del Cabo resort has introduced a VIP package for pets and their owners, featuring personalised amenities, grooming, a photoshoot and gourmet meals for four-legged guests. Olivia Palamountain reports

Mar del Cabo by Velas Resorts has unveiled a new luxury experience catering to guests who believe their pets deserve the finest holiday accommodation.

The "Very Important Pets" Experience offers a four-night retreat featuring personalised pet amenities, customised gourmet pet meals, private in-suite grooming, and beach walks for dogs upon request.

Pets receive a VIP welcome with stress-relief treats and a surprise pet-friendly amenity upon arrival. Accommodation is provided in a Garden View Suite, with sun-drenched balconies overlooking desert flora and the Sea of Cortez.
Inside the suite, furry guests are treated to a plush pet bed, gourmet treats, personalised bowls and curated toys. The experience includes customised in-suite amenities such as a robe, blanket and a pillow embroidered with the pet's name to match their owner's.

Guests also receive a "Dog-Friendly Cabo" guide highlighting pet-welcoming restaurants, activities, and scenic spots in the area.

The package includes a private in-suite grooming session and a 45-minute photoshoot, with ten professionally edited images provided to capture the holiday memories.

 While humans enjoy farm-to-table dining at the resort, pets receive daily lunches tailored to their dietary preferences and restrictions, plus hydrating drinks including dog electrolytes (hydrating beverages safe for dogs such as coconut water). An all-natural paw balm is provided to soothe paws after outdoor adventures.The VIP package is available for small to medium-sized pets and their owners, starting at US$2,698 for a four-night stay, inclusive of all amenities and experiences.
