The Maldives to welcome new ultra-lux resort collection
Six & Six Private Islands has announced plans for six Maldivian properties, featuring extravagant design and some of the nation's largest overwater villas. Olivia Palamountain reports
Six & Six Private Islands is moving into Maldivian hospitality with six new resorts that champion luxury through personalised service and artistic design.
The first two resorts will open in South Malé Atoll, beginning with Rah Gili Maldives in late 2025. The 74-villa resort is set beside a dolphin sanctuary where hundreds gather during breeding season and features 38 overwater accommodations ranging from 120 to 200 sqm, each with a large private pool.The resort promises sleek design, whimsical touches and vibrant social spaces. On land, guests will have access to a range of fine dining restaurants, one-off events and cultural happenings.
Following in 2026, Dhon Maaga Maldives will be an ultra-luxe hideaway comprising some of the Maldives’ most colossal accommodations, with 1-, 2-, and 3-bedroom villas ranging from 250 up to 400+ sqm, each with a 16m x 4m pool. Distinctive resort features include bathtubs inlaid with semi-precious gems, zen courtyards, private jet transfers and an expansive wine cellar.
Six & Six's guest-centric approach goes beyond the levels of personalisation seen in traditional resorts. Guests will have complete freedom over how they dine, explore, play and relax. Expert health and nutrition specialists and personal trainers will create individualised wellness programmes, utilising state-of the-art facilities and techniques.
