The Revery Crete is set to open on the 1st of June 2026, introducing a new style of accommodation to the Greek island with safari-inspired tented pavilions positioned close to the shores of Elafonisi Beach. Located in the southwest of Crete, the retreat has been designed to immerse guests in the surrounding landscape while offering a high level of comfort and privacy.
The property will feature 24 accommodations in total, with a strong focus on its tented concept. Known as The Revery Wild, these eco-led pavilions will start from 40 sqm and sit close to the coastline, blending into the natural terrain. Each will include spacious outdoor decks and hydrotherapy pools, encouraging guests to spend time outside and connect with the environment.
Alongside the tents, The Revery Crete will also offer suites built into the cliffs. These will start from 53 sqm and include large terraces and private heated pools with views across the sea. The largest option, The Revery Villa, will provide 285 sqm of indoor and outdoor space across two floors, with capacity for up to six guests and a 137 sqm terrace featuring a heated infinity pool.

The design has been led by local architect Eirini Apostolaki, with interiors by Athens-based designer Sophia Vantaraki. The overall approach combines natural materials such as stone, timber and canvas with a muted colour palette inspired by Crete’s landscape. Interiors include details such as linen fabrics, woven textures and handmade ceramics, reflecting local craft traditions while maintaining a simple and uncluttered aesthetic.
Sustainability is central to the concept. The Revery Crete has been developed using a low-impact approach, with buildings designed for natural ventilation and powered in part by solar energy. Materials have been sourced locally where possible, including stone taken directly from the site. Existing plant life was carefully replanted before construction, and pathways follow the natural contours of the land to avoid disruption to the coastline. Water-saving systems and biological wastewater treatment have also been integrated.

Food and drink will be centred around Fílema, a restaurant overlooking the Libyan Sea. It will serve breakfast, lunch and dinner using ingredients sourced from nearby farms and waters, including olive oil from local groves, fresh seafood and herbs gathered in the surrounding hills. The menu draws on traditional Cretan recipes, offering a connection to the island’s culinary heritage.
Wellbeing is another key focus. The ROÉE Spa will offer treatments inspired by local healing traditions, using natural ingredients such as botanicals, oils and sea salt. Facilities will include four treatment rooms, a sauna, steam room, hot and cold bathing areas and a sea-facing fitness space. Guests will also have access to an outdoor yoga deck and walking paths designed for meditation.

The retreat will offer a range of activities designed to help guests explore the surrounding area. These include visits to nearby beaches such as Kedrodasos, Falasarna and Balos, as well as hiking, water sports and boat trips. Cultural experiences will include workshops with local artisans and stargazing sessions, taking advantage of the area’s clear night skies.
The nearest airport is Chania International Airport, around a two-hour drive from the property, while Heraklion International Airport is approximately three and a half hours away. Private transfers and helicopter access will be available. Rates will start from €600 per night.
By introducing safari-style tented accommodation to Crete, The Revery reflects a wider shift towards outdoor-focused, low-impact hospitality that allows travellers to experience destinations in a more direct and immersive way.
