Atlas Ocean Voyages announces 2027/28 Antarctica expeditions
Atlas Ocean Voyages' new season of Antarctica expeditions include a globally-inspired tasting menu dining experience on each sailing, upgra and options to fly over the wild Drake Passage. Olivia Palamountain reports
Atlas Ocean Voyages has introduced enhanced amenities for its 2027/28 Antarctica polar expedition season, including new junior suites and expanded "Fly the Drake" options (allowing guests to avoid or minimise the rough Drake Passage).
Featuring 23 departures between October 2027 and March 2028, guests will travel aboard Atlas' expedition yacht fleet – World Traveller and World Navigator – with fewer than 200 fellow passengers on board.
James Rodriguez, president and chief executive of Atlas Ocean Voyages, says: "Antarctica remains the crown jewel of expedition travel, and we are excited to unveil our most diverse season yet. With new itineraries, enhanced amenities, and exclusive savings opportunities, our 2027/2028 season offers travellers unparalleled ways to experience the Seventh Continent."
The new journeys range from nine to 12 nights and are open for bookings now. Most expeditions sail roundtrip from Ushuaia in Argentina, whilst others offer Fly & Sail options from King George Island, allowing guests to bypass the Drake Passage or experience it one-way. Every voyage includes a pre-cruise hotel night stay and private charter air. Guests will enjoy Zodiac safaris, landings and wildlife encounters guided by Atlas' expedition team.
Highlights of the 2027/2028 Antarctica season include Exploring the Last Continent, an 11-night roundtrip from Ushuaia aboard World Traveller departing November 10, 2027 and March 6, 2028, with fares from £9,585 per guest; Drake Fly & Sail, a nine-night voyage aboard World Navigator sailing Ushuaia to King George Island departing November 19, 2027, with fares from £10,027 per guest; Antarctic Discovery, a nine-night roundtrip from Ushuaia aboard World Traveller departing March 8, 2028, with fares from £8,037 per guest; and six festive holiday expeditions across the season.
A recent addition to each Antarctica sailing is The Explorers Table, an exclusive omakase-style dining experience for up to 10 guests featuring global culinary highlights from Spain, Korea, France, Argentina and North America. The multi-course tasting menu is paired with premium wines and served in the Dome Observation Lounge.
Premium activities are also available for booking now, providing opportunities to personalise voyages with experiences such as kayaking among icebergs and whales, or camping overnight on shore.
