Delta debuts Missoni-branded bedding and amenity kits

May 27, 2025

Delta Airlines is expanding its partnership with Italian fashion house Missoni; splashing the brand’s joyful zigzags on everything from eye masks to duvets. Robbie Hodges reports

Delta Airlines has teamed up with Italian fashion house Missoni to update its most premium Delta One cabin, not only bedecking everything from slippers to amenity kits with its signature stripes, but replacing its bedding sets with Missoni’s own iconic design, too.

In June 2024, the pair created an amenity kit for Delta One Business-Class passengers – an embossed leather pouch that replaced the previous woven kits from Mexican company, Someone Somewhere. But the new kits being rolled out in 2025 are part of a much wider expansion of the brand partnership.

Matching slippers, while not available at the time of writing, are expected later in the year.

While not Missoni-made, Delta One will also expand its mattress pad – an added comfort currently offered on flight longer than 12 hours (classified as long haul) – by supplementing it with a memory foam cuddle pillow.

The new amenity kits are doused in soft blue and beige – a palette chosen to reflect the colours seen from plane windows at 35,000 feet. Along with Missoni crew-length socks and a lightweight eye mask in the brand’s famous zigzag pattern, guests will get skincare products from Grown Alchemist in aluminium tubes, Marvis toothpaste, a toothbrush, earplugs and Delta One-branded pen.

“In crafting the next generation of our amenity kit we embraced our signature artistry, blending patterns, textures and hues to create a kit that’s distinct, enduring, and designed to suit your lifestyle beyond your time on the plane,” said Alberto Caliri, Missoni Creative Director.

This reimagining of the luxury travel experience was grounded in data collated by Delta Airlines. The carrier claims it conducted research, studied customer feedback and did in-flight tests to better understand the onboard sleep experience. This latest addition to the Delta Airlines cabin builds upon almost a century of in-flight experience design, with the carrier celebrating its centenary in 2028.

Earlier iterations of the amenity kit, images of which Delta published alongside its latest press release, make clear just how far the luxury onboard experience has come – from single-use plastic wrapping and crudely manufactured accessories, to logo-led designs and collectable products.

“We know nothing compares to sleeping in the comfort of your own bed. However, when we set out to re-think the in-flight sleep experience, we focused on offering customers the same luxurious sleep experience you might get in a high-end hotel,” said Mauricio Parise, V.P. of Brand Experience at Delta Airlines.
