Yellow Zebra shares new wave of safari lodges
Safari specialist Yellow Zebra has released new safari itineraries for 2o25, highlighting several notable luxury lodge openings and renovations across Africa.
These include new properties in Uganda and Zambia, alongside renovations in Botswana.
Botswana's Xugana Island Lodge will reopen in May 2025 following extensive redesign work. The permanent water camp has been transformed to maximise its lagoon setting, with relocated pool areas and new suite-style rooms replacing traditional canvas tents."We're excited to see Desert & Delta elevating their camps while keeping rates accessible, especially when most new openings in Botswana tend to sit at the top end of the price scale," says Julian Carter-Manning, founder and director of Yellow Zebra.
In Zambia, Chichele Presidential Lodge opens in March 2025, aiming to introduce higher-end luxury accommodation to South Luangwa National Park. The hilltop lodge will combine panoramic bush views with access to big-game walking safaris.Looking further ahead, Asilia Erebero Hills will open in Uganda in June 2026, featuring eight forest suites with private decks and glass-fronted rooms. The lodge, located a 30-minute drive from gorilla trekking sites, represents Asilia's first venture into Uganda.
In Rwanda, the recently opened Bisate Reserve offers four suites with views of the Virunga Massif. The lodge has planted over 120,000 trees to restore the surrounding landscape and support local wildlife.Kenya's Sarara Wilderness has also launched as an exclusive-use property in the Namunyak Conservancy, featuring six standalone en-suite rooms designed for private groups.
Prices range from £3,271 per person for three nights at Asilia Erebero Hills to £15,801 for a six-night East African itinerary including stays at both Wilderness Usawa in the Serengeti and Bisate Reserve.
