25hours is set to bring its whimsical breed of hospitality to Asia for the first time this year with the launch of The Oddbird, located in Jakarta's Sudirman Central Business District.
Set to open on November 22, 2024, the colourful 38-storey hotel will offer 210 rooms and 135 residences for longer stays, alongside an outdoor infinity pool, spa and five restaurants and bars.
The property also includes unusual features such as co-working areas designed as "cages" (users are presumably slaves to their jobs) and 11 creative lounges, eclectically furnished and capable of being conjoined into a private venue and kitchen for larger events.
Designed by interior studio 1508' Singapore Studio, the property features two distinct room types - lush garden and retro urban - furnished with vintage mid-century pieces and curated art.
The 75-square-metre Gigantic Garden rooms include Schindelhauer bikes for exploring the city on car-free Sundays, while the 38-square-metre Large Urban rooms showcase unusual art and skyscraper views, plus bathrooms made from recycled construction site marble. All rooms include free minibars, wifi, Smart TVs and rain showers.
"True to its name, 25hours Hotel Jakarta The Oddbird is a place of contrasts, where nostalgia goes back to the future, inviting guests to be themselves, be anyone they want," says general manager Jesper Soerensen. "We aspire to be a home away from home for cultural chameleons who blur the boundaries between business and leisure and want what they want, when they want – a playground of possibilities, where weird is wonderful."
The Danish manager adds: "We also plan to bring the buzz. Think collaborations, installations, pop-ups and partnerships. We open-heartedly welcome all Oddbirds, those who celebrate their individuality, but want to feel at home in their flock."The hotel's facilities include a ballroom with a large outdoor terrace, and a gym and wellness centre – the Vida Spa – offering treatments encompassing massages, ice baths and oxygen therapy.
Dining options include Latin American restaurant Copa, featuring wood-infused charcoal grills and spicy margaritas, the Oddbird Bar serving cocktails and tapas, and plant-based cuisine at the Cabana pool deck. Two additional rooftop venues are planned for early 2025.
Opening rates start from 166 euros per night including breakfast, available until April 30, 2025.
