Trendy chain 25hours Hotels is set to open its second property in Copenhagen on July 27, a few steps away from Nyhavn, on the island of Christiansholm, also known as Paper Island.
25hours Hotel Paper Island is an eye-catching new build that features 128 rooms (six with private terraces), an Asian restaurant, a rooftop bar and function rooms for groups of up to 150.
Designed by local COBE architects and Swedish interior designers from Stylt Trampoli in Gothenburg, the hotel’s ambience is inspired by a quintessentially Scandinavian summer home, with a focus on rest and recuperation. The unique blend of unspoilt nature and urban lifestyle served as inspiration for the hotel design, which features natural colours and materials juxtaposed with nostalgic elements and collected objects.
Room rates start at DKK 1,800 per night (£206) without breakfast.
“With its location directly in the harbour, the hotel perfectly embodies the unique character of Copenhagen. Our guests can enjoy that special hygge feeling, far from the madding crowd of the city centre, but with direct access via a bridge for pedestrians and cyclists,” says general manager Grit Rister. The hotel will also feature a new Asian restaurant concept called Tiger Lily, created in collaboration with Jan Tran, the team behind two successful restaurants in Hamburg. The menu will feature Asian dishes, and guests can dine at communal tables, along the kitchen counter or on the outside terrace overlooking the water.
“We are over the moon to be given the opportunity to broaden our concept with 25hours at an innovative and diverse location with a rich culinary tradition,” say Jan Tran. “Our menu features Asian dishes such as pulled noodles – lamb – chili-oil and pork belly burnt ends – BBQ caramel – hot and sour salad.”
The Nomad Day bar, situated in the extended lobby on the ground floor, will serve as a gathering point for guests, offering breakfast, coffee specialities, all-day snacks, aperitifs and wines. A rooftop bar on the eighth floor completes the public amenities. To celebrate the opening, 25hours Hotels is offering a 50 per cent discount on stays during the first three months for members of its Dis-loyalty travel and food membership.
Alternatively, guests who book their stay at here will receive a restaurant voucher worth DKK 250 (£29) until the end of October 2024. It can be redeemed at the new Tiger Lily restaurant and is also valid for the NENI restaurant at 25hours Hotel Indre By.
