Lake Como EDITION launches longevity spa focused on biohacking

April 8, 2026

The Lake Como EDITION has opened a new longevity spa that combines biohacking treatments with holistic therapies. Robbie Hodges reports

The Lake Como EDITION has introduced a new longevity spa concept in partnership with The Longevity SPA, bringing a science-led approach to wellness travel at its second property in Italy. The opening reflects a wider trend in hospitality, where hotels are expanding their health offerings to include advanced diagnostics and treatments designed to support long-term wellbeing.

The spa is built around principles of biohacking, which refers to the use of technology and targeted therapies to improve physical and mental performance. Drawing on the expertise of the Longevity Group, the concept is linked to a network of clinics across Europe that focus on personalised health programmes and preventative care.

At the Lake Como EDITION, the spa includes seven treatment rooms, including a dedicated space for couples, and offers a mix of high-tech and hands-on treatments. The aim is to address areas such as cellular regeneration, metabolic balance and mental clarity, combining medical-style assessments with more traditional wellness practices.

Signature treatments include the Iki-Sabi Ritual, inspired by Japanese philosophies, which features a seaweed body wrap followed by the application of fermented rice water and silk powder, alongside a facial massage using silk cocoons. Another option, the Skin Glow Experience, begins with a detailed skin assessment before moving into a detox-focused body treatment and a targeted facial.

The spa’s more advanced offering includes what it describes as the Ultimate Biohacking treatment. This combines Dry Float Therapy, near infra-red technology and hydrogen oxygen therapy, with the aim of improving sleep, supporting immunity and reducing inflammation. Other treatments include cryotherapy-based facials and body therapies designed to stimulate circulation and collagen production.

Facilities also include Finnish and herbal saunas, as well as steam rooms and a Turkish bath, allowing guests to combine traditional thermal experiences with newer technologies.

Beyond the spa, the hotel is positioning wellness as a central part of the guest experience. A 24-hour gym equipped with Technogym equipment supports strength training and cardio workouts, while seasonal programmes will include activities such as lakeside yoga sessions, guided hikes and personal training.

The Lake Como EDITION itself has been developed within a restored 19th-century palazzo in Cadenabbia. The property offers 148 rooms, including 25 suites and two penthouses, alongside multiple dining venues overlooking Lake Como. It also marks the first Italian project from three-Michelin-starred chef Mauro Colagreco, adding a culinary dimension to the overall experience.

The introduction of a longevity spa at the property highlights the growing convergence of hospitality and preventative health. Rather than focusing solely on relaxation, hotels are increasingly offering structured programmes that aim to deliver measurable outcomes, from improved sleep to enhanced physical performance.

As travellers place more emphasis on wellbeing, developments such as this suggest that science-led wellness could become a defining feature of luxury travel experiences in the years ahead.
