Edelweiss will introduce a redesigned cabin across its Airbus A350 fleet from December 2026, combining fresh aesthetics and expanded layouts with tech upgrades across all classes.
The Swiss airline describes the update as a holistic long-haul travel experience under the motto "more room to feel good", with a design that blends a calming colour palette in shades of red and blue with clean lines and subtle patterns.
Bernd Bauer, chief executive of Edelweiss, says: "With the new Airbus A350, we seized the opportunity to rethink our entire cabin product and develop it consistently with our guests' wellbeing in mind. Our aim was to create a space that exudes tranquillity, is of high quality and clearly positions itself as a premium product. The new cabin is a logical evolution of our design and represents modern comfort, Swiss quality and a contemporary long-haul holiday flight experience."
In economy, all seats offer around three centimetres more legroom than the previous cabin, alongside a greater seat tilt angle. Premium economy is expanding to 28 seats in a 2-3-2 layout, each with approximately one metre of legroom and a hard-shell seat similar to other Lufthansa Group airlines.
The darker colour scheme underlines the class’s premium positioning, with welcome drinks, an extended food selection on china, and alcoholic drinks included. Noise-cancelling headphones from business class are provided.
Business class offers a 1-2-1 layout giving every guest direct aisle access, with about half of the seats arranged as doubles for couples. Seats convert into flat beds, and the cabin features dark blue tones, woven upholstery and wood surfaces.
The new business suite provides extra privacy with 1.2-metre high closable doors, seats that convert into flat beds, and large 32-inch screens. Middle suites have adjustable dividers to accommodate travelling pairs. A memory foam pillow, mattress topper and extra storage space are included, alongside a generous open foot area.
All cabins feature free high-speed Starlink wifi, 4K screens with Bluetooth audio, and an inflight entertainment system with more than 400 films and series, a 3D flight map and external cameras. Human-centric lighting supports circadian rhythms on long-haul flights.
Wireless charging is available in premium economy, business and business suites, with USB-C and USB-A ports supplying up to 60 watts for laptops. Additional power outlets and noise-cancelling headphones are provided in premium cabins.
The first aircraft with the new Edelweiss cabin will enter service in December 2026, with bookings opening in summer 2026. Further conversions are scheduled for January, February, April, May and July 2027, with the full Airbus A350 fleet updated by summer 2027.
