Air Charter Service offers jet setters 'quarantine concierge experience'

September 29, 2020

The 'quarantine concierge experience' is designed for elite flyers who have to self-isolate, and includes daily horse care, a case of Whispering Angel wine and personal training sessions on Zoom. Sam Ballard reports

Air Charter Service, the private jet broker, has launched a "quarantine concierge experience", which has been designed to “support travellers during the current 14-day quarantine period following their return to the UK”.

The new programme can be added to any private jet flight made with the company, costing £5,000 per person.

The quarantine concierge experience includes: chauffeur service to and from the airport, two food shop deliveries and Quarantini cocktails delivered on a Friday.

Those quarantining will also receive three recently published books, a daily newspaper of choice, dog walking or horse care, six sessions with a personal trainer on Zoom, Netflix or Amazon Prime membership, a case of Whispering Angel wine, laundry and ironing service, White Company slippers and nightwear, and a home spa set.

Andy Christie, group private jets director at Air Charter Service, says: “We fully understand our customers’ apprehension towards booking foreign holidays at this unpredictable time with quarantine rules changing at a moment’s notice, so we wanted to provide an extension of our top quality service to take the stress out of the 14-day quarantine period and allow our customers to travel safe in the knowledge they will essentially have a concierge service available to them once they return home.”

Air Charter Service is not the only luxury travel company offering specialised Covid-19 packages.

Le Bijou, a hotel brand in Switzerland, transformed its suites into luxury quarantine apartments that included personal chefs, daily nurse visits and in-room coronavirus testing.

The penthouse apartments at Le Bijou costs between US$800 and US$2,000 per night, while a Covid-19 test is available as an add-on for US$500. Twice-daily nurse visits will set you back US$800 per day or 24/7 nursing care for US$4,800 a day, reportedly.

In an interview with Slate, Alexander Hübner, the company’s CEO,  explained why Le Bijou’s rooms were ideally suited for quarantine: “In normal times, our business is to provide high-end accommodation with very bespoke services for high-end clientele. “And that means that we also have very well-equipped apartments with in-room spas and in-room saunas, and all the luxury amenities.

“They’re really spacious, especially for cities. It was for us something that felt very natural to combine with quarantine services. If you’re in a five-star hotel, then how do you access the spa and all those areas that are closed down? When you stay with us, it’s a big luxury penthouse with in-room spa and in-room fitness and all those amenities.”
