The second UK outpost of Treehouse Hotels has opened in Manchester, featuring locally-focused dining, a bespoke gym and a cinema. Olivia Palamountain reports

Treehouse Hotel Manchester is now open, bringing what it describes as "a playful and free-spirited hospitality experience" to the heart of the city.

The 200-room property marks the second UK location for the Treehouse Hotels brand, part of the Starwood Hotels collection, following the 2019 opening of Treehouse Hotel London.

Located at the corner of Blackfriars Street and Deansgate, the hotel features treehouse-inspired guest rooms, including three accessible rooms, with eight suites and a Treetop Suite scheduled to open later this year.Treehouse Hotel ManchesterTreehouse Hotel ManchesterThe property aims to help guests "reconnect with nature, explore city culture, and indulge in moments of fun and nostalgia with the backdrop of whimsical interiors, eco-conscious design, and an array of exciting dining and social spaces."

Opening alongside the hotel is Pip, a ground-floor restaurant by chef Mary-Ellen McTague focused on "reimagining local culinary heritage through seasonal, low-waste menus prepared using the bountiful produce of the North West."Treehouse Hotel ManchesterThe restaurant champions locally sourced ingredients from producers including Littlewoods Butchers, Cinderwood Market Garden, Organic North, and Courtyard Dairy, offering all-day dining across its restaurant, lounge and bar spaces.

Additional dining venues set to open later this year include Sister Moon by Sam Grainger, a Southeast Asian-inspired concept on the 14th floor, along with The Nest in Treehouse and The Hideout, the hotel's signature bar and rooftop lounge offering panoramic views of the Manchester skyline.

The property features several gathering spaces, including "Flix", a 43-seat screening room with Dolby Atmos and 4K projection, and seven versatile event spaces on the first floor that can accommodate up to 400 guests.Treehouse Hotel ManchesterTreehouse Hotel ManchesterWellness offerings include "The Playground", a fitness space with bespoke equipment designed exclusively for Treehouse Hotels. Initially open to hotel guests, a membership programme will be introduced for local fitness enthusiasts.

The hotel's cultural programming will be led by Manchester icons Luke Cowdrey and Justin Crawford, celebrating the city's cultural scene through music, arts, and community events.

To celebrate its opening month, the hotel is hosting a series of activities in collaboration with local creatives, wellness experts and artists. These include art workshops with Manchester-based artist Caroline Dowsett, yoga classes, pottery sessions, and Friday night film clubs in the hotel's cinema.Treehouse Hotel ManchesterPip restaurant will serve Sunday roasts every week from 12pm to 8pm, with a special Mother's Day offering on Sunday, March 30, that includes complimentary welcome drinks and treats for mothers.
