Virgin Limited Edition has partnered with luxury cycling tour operator LeBlanq to launch exclusive "Joyride Experiences" that marry cycling adventures with exquisite cuisine.
The first retreat, set for March 2025 at Son Bunyola Hotel in Mallorca, will be a three-night escape combining cycling routes through the UNESCO-listed Tramuntana mountains with gourmet dining care of acclaimed Spanish chef José Pizarro.
Former professional cyclist Juan Antonio Flecha, winner of the 2010 Omloop Het Nieuwsblad, will guide riders of all abilities through tailored routes, while Pizarro, known as "the Godfather of Spanish cuisine" in the UK, will create bespoke menus for the retreat.Pizarro, who runs restaurants in London and Abu Dhabi, is celebrated for his focus on seasonal ingredients - aligning with Son Bunyola's culinary philosophy.
The 810-acre Mallorcan estate, which opened in June 2023, features a restored 16th-century finca hotel and three luxury villas. The property boasts its own coastline, orchards, and vineyard within the Tramuntana range. Guests can also participate in wellness activities including yoga, guided hikes, and racket sports.
James Bermingham, CEO of Virgin Hotels Collection, says: “We are thrilled to be partnering with LeBlanq to launch a series of the most incredible tailored experiences across several of our Virgin Edition properties.
"Many of our nine magical retreats are located within some of the world’s best cycling locations, with locally sourced cuisine at the heart of their ethos. Combining this with our shared commitment to offering the most amazing experiences to our guests, and the best personalised service, makes for a really exciting partnership.”
Two additional Virgin Limited Edition properties will host Joyride Experiences in 2026.
The retreats are priced from £3,975 per person and include accommodation, meals, beverages, cycling experiences, test rides, custom Rapha kit, and an annual subscription to the RCC (Rapha Cycling Club).
