Avani+ Fares Maldives debuts AI-generated festive theme
Luxury resort Avani+ Fares Maldives embraced AI to design four Christmas theme concepts – then let its Instagram followers decide on the winner. Olivia Palamountain reports
In an innovative approach to hospitality holiday planning, the Avani+ Fares Maldives resort has employed AI to generate ideas for its upcoming Christmas theme.
The luxury resort invited its Instagram followers to vote on four AI-created concepts, allowing the public to shape this year's festive celebrations.
The resort's social media team posted the four AI-generated themes on the @AvaniMaldives Instagram account on October 15. The AI-generated themes were:
- "Tropical Wonderland" reimagines the Maldivian landscape with a snowy twist, featuring a grand Christmas tree adorned with seashells and coral-like flowers amidst twinkling lights and candle-lit paths.
- "Candy Cane Christmas" offers a whimsical scene with oversized striped candy canes serving as beach furniture and lighting, creating a playful, sweet-themed environment.
- "Frosted Paradise" presents a white Christmas fantasy reminiscent of Lapland, complete with snow castles on the beach and cosy, light-adorned gazebos.
- "Santa's Surf Shack" caters to a more laid-back celebration style, featuring Santa himself at a beach shack surrounded by surfboards and sun loungers piled with presents.
Followers then had 24 hours to participate in a poll to choose their favourite festive concept.
The winning theme was "Tropical Wonderland", which will inspire the resort's holiday decor and experiences until end of 2024.This creative use of AI technology in holiday planning demonstrates the resort's commitment to engaging with guests in novel ways.
By allowing followers to vote on the theme, Avani+ Fares Maldives Resort is also embracing a more interactive and personalised approach to crafting guest experiences.
