The latest Graduate by Hilton hotel is located in Auburn, home to one of the largest universities in the South and renowned for its vibrant college culture. Olivia Palamountain reports

The new Graduate by Hilton hotel in Alabama pays homage to Auburn's rich 187-year history and its deep-rooted American football traditions.

It houses 177 guest rooms across five floors, decorated in Auburn University's colour palette element, with thoughtful design details paying homage to celebrated Auburn traditions.

These include eagle-inspired sconces referencing the "War Eagle" battle cry and custom headboards depicting an oak tree, nodding to the tradition of "rolling" trees after football victories.     Kevin Osterhaus, president of Global Lifestyle Brands at Hilton, says: "Our goal was to create a space that pays tribute to Auburn's people, culture, and the enduring legacy that makes this place truly special for guests, students, and alumni alike."A standout feature of the hotel is its partnership with Auburn University legend and celebrated two-sport professional athlete, Bo Jackson.

The hotel houses "Bo Jackson's Beans", a coffee shop and cocktail bar located adjacent to the reception desk.

The space features design elements that celebrate Jackson's legacy, including a hand-carved wood statue and barstools displaying his football jersey number, 34.On the hotel's rooftop is "The War Eagle Supper Club", an indoor-outdoor bar and restaurant that reimagines a beloved local establishment of the same name.

This space blends Auburn University's history with a modern dining atmosphere, featuring the infamous motto "Cold Beer Hot Rock Expect No Mercy" prominently displayed above the central bar.Ben Weprin, founder of Graduate Hotels and CEO of AJ Capital Partners, says: "For Auburn, the result is the physical manifestation of what it means to be an Auburn Tiger. The hotel also features 10,000 square feet of meeting and event space, making it a versatile venue for both leisure and business travellers. As part of the Hilton Honors programme, guests can take advantage of contactless technology through the Hilton Honors app, including Digital Key for room access.

In March, 2024, Hilton announced it would pay $210 million to acquire all rights to the Graduate brand worldwide, enter into franchise agreements for all existing and signed pipeline Graduate Hotels, and become responsible for the brand’s future development and growth.

This new property not only expands Graduate by Hilton's portfolio but also provides a unique, locally-inspired accommodation option that celebrates Auburn's rich sports heritage and university culture.
