A new collaboration between Mama Shelter and La Redoute Interieurs enables fans of the hotel brand to bring its distinctive style home. Olivia Palamountain reports
Lifestyle hotel brand Mama Shelter has announced a collaboration with French homeware company La Redoute Interieurs for a limited edition furniture collection.
Set to launch on October 9, 2024, the new collection blends Mama Shelter’s playful spirit with La Redoute Interieurs’ heritage of craftsmanship.
Benjamin El Doghaïli, artistic director of Mama Shelter, has worked closely with La Redoute Interieurs’ team to create a bold and colourful range of interior furniture and home accessories. Designed to add personality, comfort, and a touch of eccentricity to any space, the collection features a variety of pieces including a graphically-shaped armchair, generous “sharing” dining tables and quirky lighting fixtures.
Doghaïli says: “I present to you a collection that blends a true tribe of objects of all sizes for the home. Designed in the same way I envision the Mama Shelters, it is eclectic, friendly and breaks away from the norm.
“A whimsical marriage of pure design and craftsmanship, from the colourful to the most discreet. Everything works together just as well as each piece can stand alone. A surprising combination of shapes, materials and colours. The challenge is to blend eclecticism and coherence, just like at Mama.”
These elements reflect the dynamic and welcoming atmosphere that has become synonymous with the Mama Shelter brand.
La Redoute Interieurs, meanwhile, is known for its innovative approach to home furnishings and has translated Mama Shelter’s distinct aesthetic into a collection that is both functional and fun.
Standout pieces in the collection include a stool with an elongated neck adorned with rings, a mirror resembling a sacred outfit for rituals in raffia, and an oversized armchair outlined with giant piping.
The collection also features a multi-functional table described as a “workbench around which you can eat, play, and dream”, and a reimagined Savoyard chair that becomes a “robotic wooden totem”.
The pièce de résistance is described as the Emmanuelle chair, featuring hearts and a wax cushion that incorporates patterns recalling all the signature pieces of the collection.
The collection will be available for purchase online from October 9, 2024, as well as in select stores, providing a touch of Mama Shelter’s creative energy and joie de vivre to modern home living spaces.
