Korean Air has unveiled a striking transformation of its cabin interiors, masterminded by design consultancy, PriestmanGoode.

The innovative redesign melds traditional Korean aesthetics with contemporary elegance, reinforcing Korean Air’s status as a world-class, premium carrier.

A standout feature is the bespoke version of the Collins Horizon Business Class seat, designed with longevity in mind. Korean Air x PriestmanGoode It has a 51-inch high privacy walls, 24-inch monitors, Bluetooth connectivity and a generous 78-inch bed length.

For couples travelling together, the middle seats can be converted into 46-inch double beds.Korean Air x PriestmanGoodeKorean Air x PriestmanGoodeDaniel MacInnes, Director of PriestmanGoode, says: “Korean Air invests confidently in design to achieve unique levels of cabin detailing and quality for their passengers. We’ve achieved a new contemporary vision of Korean identity which is a timeless product but firmly recognisable for Korean nationals and interesting for the airline’s global customer base.”

PriestmanGoode’s design philosophy centred around three key elements: colour, pattern and form.Korean Air x PriestmanGoodeKorean Air x PriestmanGoodeThe result is a sophisticated and contemporary palette that combines dark and light neutrals, enriched by layered textures, brushed finishes, and pressed fabric patterns.

The design team developed three custom patterns, each offering a modern interpretation of traditional Korean textile art.Korean Air x PriestmanGoode Korean Air x PriestmanGoodeThe first pattern, inspired by Jogakbo patchwork craft, features geometric shapes in a repeating motif used in curtains and foil designs.

The second pattern, derived from Jogakbo’s linear structures, is reimagined as an embroidered stitch design in the business class panels.Korean Air x PriestmanGoode Korean Air x PriestmanGoodeFinally, the third pattern incorporates vibrant colours from Hanbok saekdong, reflecting Korea’s cultural diversity, and is applied to economy seats.

The new cabin identity will be implemented in the Business Class and Economy Class cabins of Korean Air’s 787-9 and 787-10 aircraft, with influences also seen in the A321Neo aircraft interior.
