EOS-X Space has unveiled plans to commence space flights into the stratosphere from Abu Dhabi and Seville in 2025. Olivia Palamountain reports

EOS-X Space, Europe’s first venture into space tourism, has announced plans for its debut flights to the stratosphere.

Slated for take off from Spain and Abu Dhabi in 2025, the Seville-based company is hoping to make space travel more accessible to tourists seeking the ultimate frontier experience.

EOS-X Space’s approach involves pressurised capsules capable of carrying eight individuals, including a pilot.EOS-X  These capsules, propelled by environmentally friendly helium balloons, will ascend to an altitude of 40,000 metres, providing passengers with a five-hour journey featuring spectacular views of Earth and space.

The company is currently in the final stages of spacecraft development and validation testing, collaborating closely with the National Institute for Aerospace Technology (INTA).

EOS-X Space says its flights will be priced between €150,000 and €200,000 per person travelling from either location.Further perks are included in the cost of the flight. Passengers lifting off from Spain will be granted access to the SpaceHub Complex in La Isla de la Cartuja, Seville, to enjoy immersive experiences (yet to be announced), as well as a stay at an ultra-luxury hotel.

Details are yet to be revealed for the company’s plans and offers for those who are flying from Abu Dhabi.

However, the Emirate is projected to host the company’s most ambitious facility yet, featuring a shuttle, a spaceport and the largest hotel complex on Yas Island.

Plans are also underway to expand operations to Tulum, Mexico, by 2026.
