Raffles Jaipur is a palatial retreat on the border of Rajasthan’s “Pink City”, hand-carved from snow-white marble. Olivia Palamountain reports
Raffles Hotels & Resorts has opened Raffles Jaipur, a modern-day recreation of a palace in one of India’s most vibrant destinations.
Located a short drive from the “Pink City” and encircled by the ancient Aravalli Hills, Raffles Jaipur is hand-carved from pure white marble and showcases the finest Rajasthani craftsmanship.
Omer Acar, CEO of Raffles Hotels & Resorts, says: “We are incredibly excited to welcome guests to Raffles Jaipur, the brand’s second property in India. Rajasthan’s ancient heritage of forts and palaces continues to inspire and capture the imagination of international travellers.” 
The hotel features 50 guest rooms and suites, each unique in layout and décor, appointed with expansive balconies complete with outdoor soaking tubs or plunge pools.
Intricate details abound, from painted corniced ceilings and golden murals to furniture featuring camel bone inlay, and the hotel’s signature scent of neroli, orange blossom and saffron fills the air.
Unique to Raffles Jaipur is an enhanced butler service whereby the team will provide guests with curated healing rituals traditional to Rajasthani culture, including botanical infused bathing, health elixirs made from local spices and plant-based ointments.
The hotel aims to connect guests with local culture at every turn. Upon arrival, a Shikar tent evokes memories of Royal Mughal expeditions, while sandstone columns in the courtyard represent different eras of Rajasthani architecture.
Exclusive dining experiences, masterclasses with local artisans and private concerts are also on offer. Later this year, Raffles Jaipur plans to unveil an Artisan Trail, allowing guests to connect with skilled local artisans and explore their crafts and stories.
Binny Sebastian, general manager of Raffles Jaipur, says: “Every element of Raffles Jaipur has been thoughtfully considered. We hope to inspire our guests to immerse themselves in the local Rajasthani culture, while inviting locals to experience their home through a lens that is distinct to Raffles.”
Arkaa, the hotel’s speciality restaurant, offers a modern interpretation of local cuisine, inspired by the plant-based culinary tradition of the Mughal court’s women’s quarters. Rooftop bar Sehara, meanwhile, serves Mediterranean-inspired dishes with an Italian edge.
At the Writers Bar, expect signature cocktails such as the Jaipur Sling, a pink-hued twist on the famous Singapore Sling. The hotel also houses a huge spa, a fitness studio and a rooftop pool.
This new opening complements Raffles’ existing property in the region, Raffles Udaipur, which opened in 2021.
