This winter, the Hoxton hotel group is unveiling its Hox Chalet in Morzine, where skiers can be cooked for by a private chef, drink unlimited Grey Goose vodka and soak in a steaming hot tub. Jenny Southan reports

From time to time, innovative urban hotel brand the Hoxton branches out with a pop-up concept that takes hipsters out of the city into nature. In 2020 it unveiled Camp Hox, a “glampsite” with 12 luxury lotus tents in Oxfordshire. This was followed by a fleet of Hox campervans in summer 2021 (fitted out like hotel rooms), as well as a Hox cabin in the French countryside in 2022.

This time it is heading to the mountains with the debut of Hox Chalet (guests staying at the lodge will get a slopeside shuttle to the ski lift every day), which will open in early 2023 as a prelude to a slew of European hotel openings from the brand in Brussels, Amsterdam, Edinburgh, Berlin and Vienna.

Created in partnership with Treeline Chalets and Grey Goose vodka, the three-level chalet will be located in Morzine, France, 1,000 metres up in the ski region of Portes du Soleil.

Inside will be space for up to 12 guests across six en suite bedrooms. There will also be an open-plan kitchen, a cosy lounge with a log burning stove, a fully-stocked Grey Goose vodka cocktail bar, a wine cave, a barrel sauna, a steaming hot tub overlooking the valley and a plunge pool buried in the snow.

Stays will cost £2,000 per person for seven nights and will include daily breakfasts, drinks, local snacks, care packages full of treats and Hox x Stance socks, plus afternoon “sweet treats” on five days. There will also be hearty dinners inspired by Hoxton hotel “classics” that are cooked by a personal Hox Chalet chef, and a mixologist who can give cocktail-making lessons and mix drinks for five nights.

Just like with Camp Hox and the Hox vans, Hoxton brand-standard amenities such as Blank toiletries in the bathrooms, bespoke Hox bedding on comfy king-size beds and Roberts radios will also feature in Hox Chalet.

There are just five weeks available to book, from March 11 to April 16, 2023, bookable one week at a time.
