Gourmet eatery Chai Wu has created a women-only lunch menu “designed to be the ultimate, extravagant experience for health conscious customers”.
The Chinese restaurant opened at the beginning of the year inside premium London department store Harrods, and is now offering an eight-course meal using ingredients more commonly associated with products bought at the cosmetic counter.
Designed by executive chef Ian Pengelley, there will be a “beauty bucket” of poached Shangainese clear chicken soup with collagen jelly, a green tea fondant with milk and collagen ice cream, and champagne and raspberry-infused edible lipstick.
“Bursting with keratin and protein”, other dishes will be steamed soy beans with XO sauce; steamed lobster and sea bass crystal dumplings; wheatgrass and avocado shooters; and crispy charcoaled salmon marinated in Manuka honey.
Available Sunday to Friday from 12pm to 5pm it will cost £70 per person.
