Caravan Hatta by Our Habitas will launch in December 2025 as a new retreat within Hatta’s mountain landscape near the UAE–Oman border. The project will introduce 50 bespoke Airstream caravans positioned across a valley that overlooks the Hatta Dam.
These trailers form the core of the development and have been designed with a low-impact footprint that aligns with the region’s quiet, rugged terrain. Each will feature a private wooden deck for guests to sit outside and take in the views, reflecting an intention to encourage time spent in the surrounding nature rather than inside enclosed spaces.
The Lake House will act as the retreat’s central meeting point. This communal hub will include an infinity pool facing the mountains, offering a relaxed place to gather after hiking or time on the water. Programming throughout the retreat will draw on Hatta’s natural environment and regional heritage, with creative workshops and simple cultural activities that help guests engage with the area in a calm and meaningful way.
Wellness experiences comprise a dedicated thermal area, with a barrel sauna, outdoor cold plunge and hot tub, while yoga, meditation and sound-healing sessions will take place in open-air spaces that highlight the surrounding mountain scenery. These activities are intended to complement the region’s established outdoor trails, which give visitors access to hiking and cycling routes through the Hajar Mountains.
Guests will also have direct access to Hatta Dam, one of the region’s most primary attractions. A jetty equipped with kayaks and paddleboards will provide a straightforward entry point for exploring the lake. As night falls, attention will shift to an observatory deck set up with telescopes and floor seating, allowing guests to take advantage of the area’s dark skies and minimal light pollution.
Dining will be simple and outdoors. Food trucks and live barbecue stations will serve regional dishes in an open-air setting, keeping guests close to the landscape throughout the day and evening. This approach complements the retreat’s broader focus on low-impact infrastructure and relaxed, nature-driven experiences.
The arrival of Caravan Hatta by Our Habitas supports the region’s ongoing growth as a destination for outdoor leisure and slow travel. Its position within the Hajar Mountains, combined with its proximity to Dubai, has helped Hatta establish itself as an escape for travellers seeking calm spaces, mountain air and a break from urban environments.
Caravan Hatta by Our Habitas will strengthen Hatta’s role as a gateway to the mountains and expand the region’s offering for people looking for simple, immersive stays in nature.
