Unplugged launches tech-enhanced wellness cabin
Unplugged has partnered with digital wellbeing company Healf to create Helix, a health-optimised cabin featuring ice baths, red-light therapy and sleep tech. Olivia Palamountain reports
Unplugged has launched its first wellness-focused cabin that combines traditional offline experiences with curated health technology.
The Helix cabin, developed in partnership with wellbeing company Healf, represents what the companies describe as the first space to integrate digital detox principles with state-of-the-art wellness tools.
The cabin differs from Unplugged's traditional off-grid accommodations by incorporating electrical power to operate wellness devices whilst maintaining the core digital detox philosophy.
The collaboration introduces Healf's trademarked Four Pillars of wellbeing - Eat, Move, Mind, Sleep - through products including Everyday Dose Matcha and LMNT Electrolytes for nutrition, Pilates equipment and Therabody massage devices for movement, journaling materials and vagus nerve stimulators for mental wellness, and custom sleep masks for rest enhancement.
Additional features including a Monk Ice Bath and wood-fired sauna will be added in autumn 2025, extending the cold and heat therapy options.
Located lakeside near Tunbridge Wells, a three-night experience starts at £600 and, despite the tech influence, maintains Unplugged's signature approach of locking away guests' phones while providing instant cameras and Nokia devices.Hector Hughes, co-founder of Unplugged, says the partnership reflects evolving guest expectations: "More and more, people are looking for ways to feel better - not just by switching off, but by supporting their overall wellbeing while they do. Helix is our first 'on-grid' cabin that has a little more power for the wellbeing products."
Max Clarke, co-founder of Healf, describes the partnership as exploring "what people discover about themselves and their wellbeing when they take time to tune in to their body, rest, and reset."
The collaboration marks Healf's first physical partnership, extending the company's reach beyond digital platforms into experiential wellness.
