May 19, 2026

Raffles Courchevel will become the brand’s first alpine resort when it opens in Courchevel 1850 for the 2028 winter season.

Raffles Hotels and Resorts has announced plans to open Raffles Courchevel, its first alpine resort, in the French ski destination of Courchevel 1850. The hotel is being developed with Art de Vivre, which will own and develop the property. It is due to open for the 2028 winter season in Jardin Alpin, one of the highest areas of Courchevel 1850.

Courchevel 1850 is part of Les Trois Vallées, the world’s largest linked ski area. The destination is known for high-end hotels, luxury shops and Michelin-starred restaurants, as well as direct access to a large network of ski slopes.

Raffles Courchevel will have 50 guestrooms and suites. Many rooms will include furnished private balconies with views of the surrounding mountains and the Tarentaise Valley. The resort has been designed by JMV, with interiors by Humbert and Poyet. Facilities will include a signature bar, a tea lounge and two restaurants with winter gardens and terraces.

A spa will offer treatment rooms, thermal experiences, a fitness centre and a panoramic swimming pool. The wellness offer will combine alpine spa traditions with recovery treatments linked to longevity. The hotel will also have a programme for younger guests, focused on nature, sport and wellbeing.

Omer Acar, CEO of Raffles Hotels and Resorts, says: "The introduction of Raffles Courchevel marks an extraordinary milestone for our brand, representing our first venture into the stylish world of alpine luxury and our second distinguished address in France, joining Le Royal Monceau – Raffles Paris."

He adds: "The selection of Courchevel underscores our commitment to thoughtfully expanding the Raffles brand in the most coveted resort destinations worldwide. Raffles is celebrated for its highly personalized service, inherent sense of elegance, and unmistakable spirit of glamour. Courchevel, with its natural allure and vibrant sophistication, provides the perfect match. We are thrilled to collaborate with Art de Vivre, whose vision and dedication align perfectly with our own, to craft an exceptional and completely unique resort experience in the mountains."

Jonathan Lau, co-founder and CEO of Art de Vivre, says: "Courchevel 1850 is a destination that demands the very highest standards in design, service, and execution. In Raffles, we have found a partner whose storied heritage, cultural depth, and values are equal to this ambition.

"That same spirit lives in the generations of craft and time-honoured traditions that define Courchevel’s place at the pinnacle of alpine hospitality. We are deeply respectful of that legacy and are honoured by the opportunity to contribute to its next chapter. Our singular vision has been to create a resort that will be worthy of this extraordinary setting, one that becomes an enduring icon of Courchevel, and we are delighted to do so under the Raffles flag"

Raffles Courchevel will be the brand’s second hotel in France, after Le Royal Monceau – Raffles Paris. It will also become its sixth hotel in Europe, joining Raffles London at The OWO, Raffles Europejski Warsaw and Raffles Istanbul. Raffles Lake Como is also due to open in 2027.
