Aman is opening a ranch retreat in Texas Hill Country

May 12, 2026

Aman is expanding its US portfolio with Amansanu, a ranch-inspired retreat in Texas Hill Country featuring branded residences, stables and a wellness centre.

Aman has announced plans to open Amansanu, its first ranch-style property and sixth destination in the United States. Located in Texas Hill Country northwest of Austin, the new retreat will combine a hotel, branded residences and equestrian facilities within a landscape of rolling hills, limestone cliffs and winding creeks.

Set to become Aman’s first ranch-inspired concept, Amansanu reflects the luxury hospitality brand’s continued expansion across North America. The name derives from Sanskrit words meaning “peaceful peak”, aligning with Aman’s long-standing focus on secluded destinations shaped by nature and privacy.

The project will include a resort made up of standalone pavilions alongside a limited number of fully serviced Aman-branded residences. According to the company, each residence will sit on hillside plots beginning at four hectares, offering uninterrupted views across the surrounding valleys and canyons.

Architecture firm Olson Kundig has been appointed to design the development. The practice is known for creating contemporary buildings that respond closely to their natural environment, and the structures at Amansanu are intended to follow the contours of the landscape rather than dominate it.

Amenities will include a central Main Lodge, multiple dining venues and a large Aman Spa and Wellness Centre positioned beside a natural creek. The resort will also feature racquet sports courts, hiking trails and Aman’s first fully serviced stables, introducing horseback experiences as part of the guest offering.

The launch reflects growing interest in luxury ranch-style hospitality in the US, where travellers are increasingly seeking nature-led experiences that combine outdoor activity with high-end accommodation and wellness facilities. Texas Hill Country, known for its open landscapes, independent culture and proximity to Austin, has become an increasingly attractive destination for hospitality development in recent years.

Vlad Doronin, chairman and CEO of Aman Group, says: “Aman’s presence in the United States, with Amangiri, Amangani and Aman New York, reflects our focus on creating rare sanctuaries in destinations defined by natural beauty and cultural depth. Texas Hill Country embodies these qualities, with rolling landscapes and an independent spirit which aligns closely with Aman’s philosophy. Amansanu represents a meaningful evolution for Aman in the Americas, introducing a new expression of the brand while preserving the peace, privacy and connection to its surroundings that defines each of our destinations.”

Amansanu joins a growing pipeline of Aman projects across the Americas, including Amanvari in Mexico, Aman Miami Beach, Aman Beverly Hills and Amancaya in The Bahamas. The company says the expansion builds on the success of its existing North American properties, which combine hotels with branded residences.
