Delta Air Lines is expanding its onboard partnership with Shake Shack, bringing its burgers to more routes across the US as airlines continue to upgrade the in-flight dining experience. From March 4, 2026, first class passengers on flights over 900 miles departing from Atlanta, Los Angeles, New York-LaGuardia and Seattle will be able to order a Shake Shack cheeseburger as part of their meal service.
The move builds on an earlier launch from Boston at the end of 2024, where the airline began serving Shake Shack burgers onboard. According to Delta, more than 10,000 burgers have already been served on those routes, with strong customer feedback driving the expansion to additional cities.
The Shake Shack cheeseburger served in the air includes a 100% Angus beef patty with cheese, presented on a toasted potato bun. Passengers can customise their meal to create the brand’s signature ShackBurger by adding toppings such as lettuce, tomato and ShackSauce, which are served separately. The meal also comes with chips, a Caesar salad and a dark chocolate brownie, reflecting a broader effort to provide a more complete dining experience in the air.

Stephanie Laster, managing director of onboard service at Delta, says: “Customers are raving about the Shake Shack experience onboard our flights after serving more than 10,000 burgers out of Boston since launching in December. This is part of our work to partner with brands our customers already know and love while continuing to raise the bar for the in-flight experience – whether that’s making your favorite cheeseburger available at 35,000 feet, or ensuring you have a variety of fresh meals to choose from that fuel you on your adventure.”
Michael Kark, president of global licensing at Shake Shack, adds: “Our partnership with Delta has been a truly fantastic way to bring Shake Shack to even more guests in a setting where hospitality truly matters – while traveling. The response has been incredible, and we’re thrilled to expand this partnership, giving even more Delta travelers the chance to enjoy Shake Shack along their journey.”
First class passengers on eligible routes can pre-select the Shake Shack cheeseburger as their lunch or dinner option up to 24 hours before departure, using the Fly Delta app or a link sent via email. Meal selection opens seven days ahead of travel, giving passengers time to plan their onboard dining in advance.
Alongside the route expansion, Delta is also using the partnership to support a broader collaboration with Uber. To mark Uber joining the SkyMiles loyalty programme in spring 2026, Delta, Shake Shack and Uber Eats are offering a limited-time promotion. SkyMiles members who join the Delta and Uber waitlist by March 6 will receive a “buy one ShackBurger and get one free” offer in their Uber Eats account. The promotion is valid until March 14.
Delta has indicated that further expansion of the Shake Shack partnership may follow, suggesting that branded dining collaborations could become a more regular feature of long-haul and domestic flights in the future.
