Capella opens luxury retreat in Macau's Galaxy resort

February 16, 2026

Capella at Galaxy Macau is an intimate retreat within one of Asia's largest integrated resorts, featuring suites with indoor plunge pools and a forthcoming restaurant from Michelin-starred chef Vicky Cheng. Olivia Palamountain reports

From the moment guests arrive at Capella at Galaxy Macau, the hotel makes clear this is not a conventional resort experience.

The ground floor lobby centres on the Tree of Life – a pulsating installation of coloured light surrounded by round pools, carved wooden storks and lush foliage, leading to a three-metre custom LED screen by Hong Kong artist Laura Cheung that draws guests into a jungle-inspired narrative carried throughout the property.

Guests are then welcomed by a personal Capella Culturist in the Capella Living Room – a cocooning social salon anchored by Jungle Blue, a Bruno Moinard abstract oil painting – before being escorted to their suite for in-suite check-in by a dedicated butler.Capella at Galaxy Macau"Galaxy Macau was created as a destination where the world's finest hospitality and ultra-luxury experiences come together," says Kevin Kelley, chief operating officer, Galaxy Entertainment Group. "True exclusivity is no longer about spectacle – but about scarcity."

Four-bedroom penthouses spanning nearly 700 square metres include infinity-edge lap pools, private winter gardens, wellness rooms with TechnoGym equipment and games rooms.

Culinary programming includes a forthcoming fine-dining restaurant by Vicky Cheng – the Michelin-starred Hong Kong chef and Krug Ambassador whose Wing restaurant ranks number two on Asia's 50 Best Restaurants 2025 list.
