Mindtrip partners with the Bahamas to roll out AI trip planning

January 7, 2026

Mindtrip is bringing AI-powered trip planning to the Bahamas, helping travellers turn inspiration into tailored itineraries across the destination’s 16 key islands. Jenny Southan reports

AI travel platform Mindtrip has announced a new partnership with the Bahamas that will see artificial intelligence embedded into the destination’s official digital channels to help travellers plan more personalised trips.

The collaboration aims to simplify how people choose between the country’s many islands and experiences, while giving the destination greater control over how its content is interpreted and delivered.

The partnership allows visitors to Bahamas Ministry of Tourism websites to interact directly with Mindtrip’s conversational AI. Travellers can ask practical questions, explore ideas and receive tailored itineraries based on their interests, travel style and party type, whether they are travelling alone, as a couple or with family.Atlantis, The Bahamas

Mindtrip’s technology processes questions such as when to visit, which islands suit different types of trips and where to find activities including food festivals, scuba diving and ecotourism. It then generates custom travel plans that include suggested experiences, visual content and interactive maps, helping travellers move from inspiration to planning in one place.

The Bahamas is made up of more than 700 islands and cays, with 16 primary island destinations actively promoted to travellers. While this diversity is a strength, it can also make trip planning complex, particularly for first-time visitors unfamiliar with how the islands differ. The new AI tool is designed to reduce that friction by guiding travellers towards islands and experiences that best match their needs.

Andy Moss, co-founder and CEO of Mindtrip, says: “The Bahamas is the perfect partner for Mindtrip for Business because the destination offers something for every traveller. Whether it’s family fun, romance, ecotourism, or outdoor adventure, Mindtrip makes discovering and experiencing the islands effortless. It’s travel planning reimagined for today’s modern explorer.”The Bahamas

The AI integration also allows the destination to surface practical, time-sensitive information. By indexing the Bahamas’ hurricane and weather content, Mindtrip can provide travellers with up-to-date information on tropical storms and other conditions that may affect travel plans. This is intended to give travellers clearer guidance at the planning stage, particularly during the Atlantic hurricane season.

Connectivity is another area addressed by the platform. Mindtrip highlights how travellers can reach the islands through the country’s 20 international airports, including Nassau’s role as a hub for onward connections to the Out Islands.

The tool also explains flight options from major US and Canadian cities, as well as routes from Europe and Latin America, including services via Panama and London, alongside private charter options.

For international travellers, this information helps clarify which islands are easiest to reach depending on point of origin, something that is often unclear when destinations promote multiple islands under a single brand. By combining this data with personalised recommendations, the platform aims to support more confident decision-making.

The Honourable I Chester Cooper, deputy prime minister and minister of tourism, investments and aviation, says: “In our ongoing commitment to enhance the visitor experience, we are leveraging innovative technology to revolutionize how travelers are planning their getaway to the Bahamas.

"This partnership with Mindtrip is an exciting and important step forward in making trip planning more personalised, ensuring every visitor to our world-class destination can immerse themselves in our culture, adventures, and natural beauty even before they arrive.”The Exumas

Latia Duncombe, director general at the ministry, adds: “Our goal is to ensure that the Islands of the Bahamas remain a first choice for travellers worldwide. Through this partnership with Mindtrip, we are showcasing the vibrant culture and rich diversity of our 16 unique islands, while connecting travelers to experiences that matter most to them and offering a truly immersive view of the Bahamas.”

The collaboration reflects a wider shift among destinations towards using AI not just as a marketing tool, but as a functional layer that sits between inspiration and booking. Rather than directing visitors to static pages or generic lists, destinations are increasingly looking to guide travellers through complex choices in a more conversational and responsive way.

Mindtrip for Business already works with a range of tourism organisations, including national, state and city destinations, using AI to transform existing content into interactive planning tools. For the Bahamas, the partnership provides a way to present its scale and diversity in a clearer, more navigable format, while keeping travellers within official channels for longer.

Founded in 2023 in Silicon Valley, Mindtrip positions itself as a platform that combines conversational AI with a proprietary travel knowledge base. The company says its focus is on delivering practical, accurate recommendations rather than abstract inspiration, with the aim of making travel planning faster and more intuitive.

For the Bahamas, the rollout represents a move to modernise how the destination engages travellers online, using AI to reflect the reality that visitors increasingly expect personalised answers rather than one-size-fits-all guidance.
