Trip.com has launched Trip.Planner, a new AI-powered platform designed to transform the way travellers plan, book and personalise their journeys. The tool positions itself as a one-stop digital travel concierge, capable of creating custom itineraries that evolve dynamically with real-time recommendations and transport updates.

The innovation reflects a wider localisation push by Trip.com Group as it deepens its presence in Europe. The company describes Trip.Planner as both a practical and creative hub, offering seamless integration between booking and discovery.

Travellers can enter just three details – destination, trip duration and travel style – to generate a full itinerary mapped out visually, complete with the flexibility to add, remove or reorder stops via an interactive, canvas-style interface. A floating AI button remains active at all times, offering context-sensitive suggestions as users refine their plans.

Trip.Planner’s most significant advantage lies in its integration of live data. Flights, trains, hotels and attractions are updated in real time, allowing travellers to plan and book without switching platforms. The system cross-checks opening hours, transport routes and average visit durations to ensure itineraries are realistic and achievable – solving a perennial problem of overambitious travel plans. When changes occur, the AI immediately adjusts the itinerary to maintain flow, whether it’s rerouting due to a delayed train or swapping an attraction for one better suited to the weather.

Each recommendation is sourced from Trip.com’s ecosystem of trusted content, including Trip.Best, Trip.Pulse and Trip.Events, ensuring reliability and up-to-date inspiration. For travellers seeking deeper insights, expert-vetted suggestions are also available through the in-app chat, offering human-informed guidance for milestone trips, cultural experiences or specialist interests.

The platform also adapts to user preferences through a range of travel styles – from family-friendly and nature-based trips to culture-led or heritage-focused itineraries. Those planning group travel can share itineraries via a link, while budget-conscious travellers can request AI-assisted options tailored to specific spending ranges. Whether organising a weekend break or a multi-country adventure, Trip.Planner enables travellers to collaborate, edit and confirm plans in one streamlined space.

Trip.com emphasises that local knowledge plays a key role in shaping the new system. In Europe, the company is partnering with regional experts to refine the tone, language and relevance of its travel recommendations, as well as integrating extensive rail networks and eco-conscious filters. These enhancements align with European travellers’ growing interest in sustainable and culturally immersive experiences.

By uniting trip building, booking and curated inspiration, Trip.Planner replaces the fragmented mix of spreadsheets, saved tabs and third-party platforms that typify modern travel planning. Its intelligent use of data, design and human expertise signals a new era of seamless, personalised travel tools, where every itinerary can evolve in real time.

Trip.Planner is currently available on English-language Trip.com sites in select markets including the UK, US, Canada, Australia and Hong Kong, with wider European localisation set to follow in 2026.
