Club Avandra debuts members-only trips for women
A new private member community, Club Avandra, aims to uplift luxury solo travel for independent women seeking style, connection and purpose-driven adventure. Olivia Palamountain reports
Club Avandra is a first-of-its-kind all-female private community designed for women who want to explore the world without compromise.
The brand encompasses a global network of curated travel experiences and expert-led journeys crafted for what it calls the female “no-compromise cohort” - or “SWANs” (sorted, worldly and no sh*ts given).
Created by a collective of experienced women in travel, Club Avandra was born from the recognition that female solo travellers seeking high-end, soulful journeys still face limited options that match their expectations for comfort, creativity and safety. The community’s mission is to close what founders call the “glamour gap” - offering women the chance to travel independently, but in a way that feels elevated, connected and empowering.
Membership to Club Avandra provides access to a programme of immersive, small-group trips hosted by female experts with deep personal ties to each destination. Upcoming 2026 itineraries include cultural immersion in Malta with lifestyle director Marianne Jones, desert adventures in Jordan with global travel PR pioneer Debbie Flynn, a fashion-inspired escape to Marrakesh with former Glamour editor Jo Elvin, ski retreats in Verbier with luxury travel specialist Julia Kemp, a culinary journey in Galicia with author Kathy Lette, and a wellness retreat in Helsinki with health entrepreneur Marja Putkitso.
Each journey combines luxury, culture and connection, appealing to women who want to travel solo yet share experiences with a like-minded community. Trips start from £4,250 per person and feature exclusive access, private tours, expert-led workshops and stays in distinctive properties. Members will also enjoy regular editorial content curated by Marianne Jones, intimate events, and a private online community offering insider travel insights and connections with fellow “Wander Women.”
Jones says: “Club Avandra fills a gap we have long known existed - for a community of SWANs who are done with travel compromises and want to discover the world stress-free, in style and solo without feeling lonely.”
The community also integrates a philanthropic element: members can choose one of Club Avandra’s charity partners - Women in Travel CIC, The WOW Foundation or Inspiring Girls International - with donations made on their behalf. The brand’s founders describe this as part of a wider mission to create a positive ripple effect across the travel industry through women supporting women.
To mark its debut, Club Avandra is offering its first 100 members a discounted “founders’ membership” for £250 (usually £400). Annual membership unlocks access to the brand’s bespoke travel portfolio and special member-only events, while non-members can still book selected experiences through Avandra’s luxury partners.
