The Peninsula hotel group has partnered with London’s Victoria & Albert Museum (V&A) to bring elevated world-class art experiences into the luxury hotel space.
The hotel brand will launch a series of contemporary art installations curated in partnership with the V&A. The first will be an exhibit at The Peninsula Hong Kong in March 2025, launched in time for Art Basel Hong Kong.

Since 2019, The Peninsula’s Art in Resonance programme has spotlighted the work of important emerging and mid-career artists. The programme provides curatorial support, exhibition space and support for these creators to produce new public artworks, while offering immersive art experiences to Peninsula hotel guests.
The V&A's involvement will bring a fresh perspective, as well as global access to emerging and mid-career artists, who will directly benefit from the programme. The collaboration will commission new pieces of art for the V&A and various Peninsula hotels, allowing the Art in Resonance commissions to reach new audiences.
The first iteration of the collaboration at The Peninsula’s flagship Hong Kong property will feature a new Art in Resonance installation. The Peninsula and the V&A will present this newly commissioned work, curated by Dr Xiaoxin Li, the V&A’s Curator for its Asia Department. The piece will be on display in the hotel’s lobby, complemented by two other new commissions by Art in Resonance creators. This in-hotel exhibition, framed by the property's heritage façade and classic interiors, will be accessible to both hotel guests and the public.
Gareth Roberts, executive director and chief operating officer of The Peninsula’s parent company, The Hongkong and Shanghai Hotels, Limited, says: “We could not be more thrilled to work with the V&A, the world’s preeminent collective champion of the creative arts. In many ways, this partnership feels like the natural next step for our Art in Resonance programme, through which we strive to embrace boundary-pushing art immersion for our guests and the public at large.”
Tim Reeve, deputy director and chief operating officer for the V&A, says: “The creative vision shared by these selected artists perfectly embodies the spirit of our new partnership. Working with The Peninsula to create a greater reach for these works reflects the V&A’s mission to champion design and creativity in all its forms, advance cultural knowledge, and inspire makers, creators and innovators everywhere.”
