Belmond debuts 'Long Shots' film series

January 27, 2025

Belmond has released a series of destination films that offer viewers an antidote to the frenetic pace of social media content and a window into its most scenic locations. Olivia Palamountain

Long Shots by Belmond is a series of hour-long, unnarrated films that showcase various Belmond properties around the world, capturing ambient scenes and natural soundscapes across their destinations.

The format follows in the footsteps of the "Slow TV" phenomenon, which gained popularity during lockdown when viewers sought calming, meditative viewing experiences.

Rendered in exquisite detail and anchored to Belmond’s "Slow Luxury" brand DNA, 'Long Shots' offers a taster of Belmond’s signature experiences, steeped in the value of time and mindful living.

Long Shots offers viewers an gloriously up-close experience, transporting them to Belmond’s enchanting locations starting with Portofino, Rio de Janeiro, Scotland, Sardinia, Amalfi and Burgundy.

According to Belmond, these films are best enjoyed on a large screen with the volume turned up, allowing viewers to fully immerse themselves in each destination.

In a world where social media video clips are becoming shorter and attention spans are dwindling, the so-called Slow TV phenomenon has emerged as an intriguing counterbalance.

Originating in Scandinavia back in 2009, Slow TV has since gained global popularity, with The New York Times describing it as 'soothing digital rooms.' These ambient films, whether depicting a crackling log fire or softly falling snow, have been linked to improved mental health and enhanced concentration.Long Shots
