Shanghai Snow World Hotel offers year-round skiing
IHG Hotels & Resorts has unveiled Shanghai Snow World Hotel, a resort adjacent to the city's record-breaking indoor ski facility. Olivia Palamountain reports
The Shanghai Snow World Hotel offers 272 rooms and 17 suites, providing direct access to more than 90,000 square metres of year-round snow facilities at the Shanghai L+SNOW Indoor Skiing Theme Resort.
The development by IHG Hotels & Resorts marks a significant milestone as the first new-build Vignette Collection property in China, responding to the country's growing appetite for winter sports and snow-based hospitality.
According to the China Tourism Academy, demand for "ice and snow" hospitality continues to rise by 38% year-on-year. Located just 30 kilometres from Shanghai Disney and Pudong Airport, the hotel caters to both winter sports fans and leisure travellers, offering fast-track access to ski slopes, indoor and outdoor water parks, and a tournament-level ice rink.

The hotel features four distinctive dining venues, including Teppanyaki on the 18th floor and The Peak restaurant at the top of the building, both offering panoramic views of the indoor winter wonderland. For business travellers, eight versatile meeting rooms occupy the third floor, alongside a pre-function area suitable for themed events. Guests also have access to a state-of-the-art fitness centre and heated indoor swimming pool.
This opening contributes to IHG's rapid expansion of the Vignette Collection, which has reached 19 operational hotels worldwide with 34 more in development, including planned openings in Japan, Vietnam, and The Maldives.
