Pullman Hotels & Resorts has unveiled a high-tech concept room that transforms to meet multiple guest needs, from workspace to workout area to bedroom at the touch of a button.

The "Transforming Room", launched at Pullman Singapore Orchard following two years of research, features innovative elements including a custom Murphy bed (wall bed) that disappears into the wall, a Compoz "parfum module" for scheduling personalised scent playlists, and Dornbracht shower technology for an in-suite spa  experience.

Guests access the room's functions by scanning a QR code, which connects to a smartphone app controlling everything from curtains and lighting to workout programmes displayed on a wall-sized screen.Pullman Transforming RoomPullman Transforming Room The space includes a multipurpose workspace equipped with numerous outlets, a portable lamp, drinking water tap, and vanity mirror, while a privacy screen can divide the room when needed.

"Pullman is embracing the fluidity of contemporary lifestyles and championing a softer approach to productivity," says Benoît Racle, global brand president, Premium at Accor. "This innovative space seamlessly adjusts to the ever-changing needs of our guests throughout their stay."Pullman Transforming RoomThe room features multi-sensory sleep experiences, with automated blackout curtains and programmed scent sequences, plus a morning wake-up mode using natural light to boost serotonin production. The bathroom features mood lighting and advanced shower controls for personalised wellness experiences.

It also offers virtual training programmes through Peloton, while digital art by Artpoint can be displayed on the screens. When the Murphy bed is concealed, the space can accommodate private dining experiences or team meetings.Pullman Transforming RoomPullman Transforming RoomAt the end of the day, housekeeping lower the bed from a discreet storage wall. With a few swipes of the app, the video screen switches off; blackout curtains slide shut; and the Compoz parfum module engages a series of scents to create an atmosphere that influences and induces sleep.

"The Transforming Room is a groundbreaking research initiative that allows us to observe and understand how guests interact within a multi-functional space," says Damien Perrot, global chief design officer for Premium, Midscale & Economy Brands at Accor.

The concept room will inform future Pullman hotel designs, as the brand adapts to serve what it calls the "evolving needs of today's traveller through curated and people-centric space and service-design."
