Adults-only wellness resort StolenTime St Lucia has launched a specialised grief retreat package, aimed at helping individuals, couples, families, or friends process grief in a nurturing environment.

The initiative, launching ahead of National Grief Awareness Week (December 2-8, 2024), comes as data reveals that 51% of bereaved people in the UK report experiencing high or severe vulnerability.

It has been designed by British trauma specialist Annalie Howling, who is an expert in Eye Movement Desensitisation and Reprocessing (EMDR) therapy, a technique that helps people process trauma by directing their eye movements while they recall distressing memories.   StolenTime St Lucia grief retreatHowling's expertise focuses particularly on creating a supportive space for emotional recovery during difficult life transitions.

The programme forms part of a comprehensive restorative experience, combining professional therapeutic support with the natural healing environment of the Caribbean setting.

The all-inclusive resort emphasises mental wellbeing and personal reconnection throughout all aspects of the stay. Activities blend therapeutic and social elements, including mindfulness-focused paddleboarding and Caribbean DanceFit sessions to foster community connection.

The package also includes specialised spa treatments, with Shirodhara therapy using warm oil to stimulate neurotransmitters and help relieve symptoms of depression and emotional insecurity. Additional healing options include the MindBody Restoration treatment, which combines techniques to "balance the chakras and soothe pressure points for a holistic healing experience."

StolenTime's therapeutic grief retreat package starts at £725 per room based on double occupancy.
