Selene, a nightclub opening imminently in London's West End, promises to ignite the hedonism of Ancient Greece in historic Mappin House this November.
Named after the Greek goddess of the moon, Selene will take guests on a "sensory journey from the moment they arrive", leading them through multiple rooms each with their own distinct decor and character.
The first will host nightly performances inspired by Greek mythology, while the second room, Helios, will focus on house music in a Greek garden setting. The third space, reserved for members, will serve Greco-Italian aperitivi from 9pm and function as an afterparty venue.
A hidden VIP room, accessible through secret passages, will house a hidden bowling alley for private events and lucky clubbers picked from the crowd to try their luck on the lanes. The venue's design incorporates Greek mythology throughout, featuring velvet curtains, chandeliers, and infinity corridors created through strategic lighting and mirrors. The colour scheme combines bold reds, blues and greens with gold accents, while the bathrooms feature deep blue tiled walls and shell-shaped basins.Selene will be situated on the former site of jeweller Mappin and Webb's 1906 building, marking a new chapter in the historic location's evolution.
